if trsmp had come out in the pacific rim era there'd be 8 billion AUs of Pangi and Lukey being immediately drift compatible. which would be Wrong it should be Pangi and Mocha being Incredbily drift compatible pilots together to the point of ghost drifting really early on and being so in sync then Mocha dies and Pangi nearly has a breakdown but still Needs to pilot. and he tries to deal with this by forcing compatibility with Lukey (who's sort of a Newton Geiszler equivalent scientist in this world but also kinda idolises piloting even tho he's. not so good at stuff like that) but Pangi is tormented by Mocha's death and kinda obviously trying to replace him with Lukey and Lukey is super reticent and closed off to revealing any actual memories of his so they just can't make the drift happen. until they spend time working together and building trust and eventually Pangi acknowledges he'll never get Mocha back but he cares about Lukey too even if it's never going to be the same as it was with him and Lukey finally allows Pangi into his head (memory lane. idk what his memories are probably he lost his town to a kaiju attack or smth and now he's obsessed with dealing with the kaiju in a sort of. corruption parrallel) and they can finally work in sync and drift. anyway nobody would write that they'd just do them being instacompatible and it'd make me really mad so I'm glad ppl don't write pacrim AUs anymore.
I know a lot of people miss Mocha/Pili1 in the context of triple treat, but what I actually miss the most about him was his relentless taunting of Ros and Aimsey's morality.
How in the first months of the realm he would taunt them left and right until they had no option besides retaliate and therefore contradict what they claimed to believe in. Because Mocha never had a choice when assigned as red so why should they see him and green as evil? And how this pushed both Aimsey and Ros in two similar but highly different character developments.
The more I think about it and from what I see in the pangi streams and Pili's recent animation, the more I think Tr!Mocha(Pili1)/Tr!Pili(Pili2)/Tr!Ace(Pili3) are a good representation of a CDD system (complex dissociative disorder). Maybe DID, but I can't say for sure, as Ace seems to remember things from both Pili and Mocha, but it might be some sort of persecutor-protector which could explain it. Pili and Mocha straight up do not remember what the other did. In the animation, we see Mocha takes the train, which could be in some way them going dormant. There's also the way they say "Took over" which could be fronting. I've always thought that maybe Pili was some kind persecutor too, but I have since then learnt that he was basically only mean to pangi, so that doesn't work, although I believe he could have been a social alter?
Of course I'm just rambling right here but it's interesting to think about.
(If you didn't notice I have a special interest in systems)
was listening to anything by adrienne lenker and just had violent triple threat flashbacks for some reason. thinking about how bad clearly misses mocha so much even after all the time that passed
