BRATTY’s finding things pretty dull these days on her latest single.
A more subdued offering compared to the fuzzy, ramshackle charm of previous tracks, ‘Estos Dias’ sees the Mexican singer/songwriter muse wistfully about the dangers of monotony in her native tongue, her boredom given a dreamy yet thoughtful edge with the help of gentle strums, heartfelt twinkling and eerie synth tones.
The accompanying visualiser also taps into her loneliness by showcasing the singer sitting alone in a range of empty spaces. It’s all very atmospheric, playing out like the soundtrack to the bittersweet montage in a teen film.
‘It’s a song I made thinking about the passage of time,’ says BRATTY (via Grimy Goods). ‘Feeling trapped in a day-to-day loop, the inability to make decisions, and the fear of being left alone.’
BRATTY’s forthcoming album, TR3S, is out soon.
