a non-black blackface supporter anti-radqueer has called me racist for supporting transrace people.. oh the irony!
I've noticed alot of people seem to describe being transrace, specifically transpoc, as "reaping the benefits".
I have more thoughts on this but I can't think well right now. I hope this is okay to send and fits the blog theme. Sorry if it doesn't.
this is racism!
like- wdym "reaping the benefits"? what benifits?
"im anti trace!"
then supports transjew stuff..
yk, the racialized group.
your antisemitism & complete lack of understanding jews as a group is showing!
ciswhites have no bussiness even mentioning trace people in any discussion at all, much less call us "racist".
NOTE: cis =/= natal💞
Ppl complaining about closed cultures 99% of the time don't understand why a culture would be closed. I tried to explain to someone once and I got blocked without a word. Your individual desire for an aesthetic name don't take precedence over the genocide that leads to cultures being closed and I'm not sorry. People here are so fucking racist always putting their own individual desires over actual love and care for poc but if you say anything about it you get called tracist, and ppl seem to care more about tracism than about racism towards cisrace ppl I'm so tired of it. Care about all racism learn to give a shit
This feels like a very controversial topic that for the mods mental health I will not comment on (I know how y'all can get at the smallest ounce of nuance and consideration of different beliefs), but I'll post for people to discuss, agree, disagree, etc.
Discussion rules: No twisting anon's words, no bad faith readings, keep an open mind or a shut mouth, etc. Either be healthy and productive or shut upppp.
anytime an anti sees a transjapanese person with a cutesy aesthetic and immediately assumes they have the aesthetic to joke about the identity. But also especially when someone is transjapanese and into j-fashion or j-pop they go "oh of course you are" and act like the ones who simply have interests and identities are being racist..?
Like, we don't call transfems sexists when they wear dresses and makeup to alleviate dysphoria or to present themselves, why would we call someone who's transrace racist for looking into popular interests that originated where they feel they are from? And especially when it's called appropriation, and the amount of times we've seen that called appropriation compared to the times we've seen Actual conversations about Actual appropriation. Antis will water down serious terms to hell and back and then claim the people that're just trying to exist and feel happy with themselves are the ones causing issues. Antis are Very Loud about having internalized bigotry they refuse to let go of.
(tried rewording the first part a few times but I'll say this separately jic it still doesn't make sense; I meant to say that when antis see transjapanese people (or really Anyone who's transasian in any way) with cutesy aesthetics they immediately assume those two factors are inherently related, showing they definitely have some internalized racism going on if that's their IMMEDIATE assumption. And when transasians literally just look into what popular music genres or fashion genres originated from specific places in asia, they get called racist as if that wouldn't be like... Expected. If I see myself as Japanese and I like fashion and music, no shit I'm gonna look into fashion and music from Japan.)
This is tracism & racist.
someone hearing im transblack and immediately asking if i say the n word is racist and weird
!! Spoke about this before either here or on @transrace-central but if you're idea of race is "black means you can say the N-word white means you can't" – you're stupid. No way around it. You don't actually gaf about race issues you just wanna performatively care.
ppl thinking im only transblack so i can say the n word.
i dont even say it, not even around ppl who know im transblack!!
i am who i am because it feels right, not because i want to say slurs
This is tracism, and arguably racism because it is weird to see race through the lens of "what slurs can I say"
