A meandering post about yoga and knees and ballet and Pez
So even though my knee is still hurting and is currently nestled under a CVS peas ice pack, I felt really good about yoga tonight. I know I need to go get it checked out/probably get some physical therapy to address tracking issues (and knee pain that has come and gone since I was like, 10) that I've been ignoring since back when I was dancing four to five days a week but yoga is so so different than ballet. I'm slowly learning I don't have to push so hard ALL THE GODDAMN time because that isn't the point of yoga. And it isn't focused on everyone looking precisely the same doing the same thing and having the same body and the same shoulders and the same energy. Your practice is YOUR practice.
Tonight was also entertaining because the teacher kind of changed part of class to work on something to do with my knee so I wouldn't be alone doing strange things with a block between my thighs. The block has thereafter referred to as Pez. "If your Pez was going to dispense it would go towards the back of the room." And I think a big part of the problem is that even when I'm standing with my feet parallel (which is NOT NORMAL if you have a background in classical ballet but very much normal in yoga) I'm trying to externally rotate my inner thighs, which is doing strange strange things to my joints. And now I have something tangible that I can focus on to help my knees, YAY.
Yo, staff, couldn't you have fixed the problem of tracking things with hyphens in them? Because if you search something with a hyphen in turns into a space. This causes issues when your url has hyphens because then you can't track yourself and see if people have tagged you in things. Wanna fix it?
A friendly message from the Queensboro Bridge. I was a little worried they'd plain forgotten about the 'e'.
