Tractor Driving Precautions and Tractor Maintenance
In general, most of the drivers do not attentive until something happens wrong. Tractor driving precautions are necessary for the drivers and regular maintenance increase life of the tractors. Following two checks are necessary for the tractor driving i.e. Pre-start check and running time check.
Pre-start check:
Tyre pressure: Tyre pressure in front wheels are 28-30 PSI and rear wheels are 14-18 PSI.
Fuel tank: Availability of the diesel in the fuel tank is sufficient.
Radiator water: Water level in the radiator is up to the marked level, if it is not then fill it (This is only for water cooled system).
Oil level: Check oil level of the engine for lubrication, it should also be up to the marked level.
Battery water: Water in the battery is up to the marked level, if it is not then fill it.
Air cleaner: Check the Air cleaner, it is clear from dust or not, if it is not then clear it.
Gear position: The tractor should be in neutral condition before starting.
Running time check:
During running time, you should always check dashboard gauges.
Oil pressure gauge: Check oil pressure in the oil pressure gauge mounted on dash board, it should be 30-45 PSI in normal condition.
Water temperature gauge: It should be maintained within the green colour ranging from 400 to 1200 otherwise overheating will cause ceasing of the piston.
Driving: Turn steering on same side in which to turn in forward going condition.
Trolley driving: Trolley driving in forward motion is same as that in simple tractor driving but in reverse in quite complicated. For reverse, always turn steering to opposite direction as to which you have to go and avoid hitting of rear tyre to the trolley.
Maintenance:
Maintenance is a process, in which, you have to remove errors by adjustment in parts and adjustments should be done according to their initial specification.
Following steps for servicing of the tractors:
Properly wash the tractor
Warm up the tractor for one an half hour so that oil can be drawn.
Oil drain from oil sump through cap is to be done.
Change the oil lubricating filter.
You should change diesel filter (primary and secondary) if it is needed.
Check the tension of fan belt so that dynamo may run at proper speed.
Check the free play of the clutch (〖1/4〗^" to 〖7/8〗^" ) if it is not right then adjust it.
Clean the air filter and if there is need of changing the oil filter then it should be changed.
Check the front wheels and rear wheels pressure. It may be 28-30 PSI and 14-18 PSI respectively.
Preloading of front wheel is very important, firstly you tight the capstan nut full and losses it slowly till tyres moves smooth and there is no lateral motion in tyre.
Check the Fuel Injection Pump, if it is not working properly then replace it.
Greasing all the grease points.
