*Storms out of the room*
“Fine!” Lo shouted after him, tears beginning to stream from her face. She halfheartedly tossed a pillow that had previously sat on the couch towards the door after Romeo had slammed it shut.
“Shut up. Just shut up!”
For the first time in their argument, Lo fell silent. She had to fight the urge to yell no, to explain all of the misconceptions he had. But she didn’t. She slowly lowered herself onto the couch and watched Romeo carefully instead, only moving to wipe tears that had escaped every now and then. After a few, very long moment had passed, Lo swallowed at the knot that sat inside her throat. “Romeo, please,” she whispered, desperate for his understanding.
“You’re lying.”
Shaking her head, Lo desperately attempted to catch Romeo’s gaze. “No, Rome, please,” her hands grabbed at the sleeves of his shirt. “You have to believe me. I didn’t - I wouldn’t do anything with anyone that isn’t you.”
“Don’t fucking touch me.”
"What? I -” When Lo’s words were only met with a glare, she let hers fingers relax and slip down the front of his shirt. Folding her arms, she took a deep breath. “I don’t get it.”
“You can’t hide the truth forever, you know.”
“There’s nothing to hide?” Lo questioned, her head tilting. She studied Romeo momentarily, a knot forming in her throat the longer she stared. “I didn’t do anything.”
“Please, don’t leave me.”
Shaking her head lightly, Lo pressed a light kiss to Romeo’s cheek. “I don’t think I could ever let myself.”
“I’ve never wanted to give love a try until now.”
Lo sat on her hands to hide the fact that they were shaking. Batting her eyelashes, she met Romeo’s quiet gaze with a grin spread across her lips. “Me either.”

A blush sprung the moment Jay’s hand came into contact with Elle’s personal space bubble, lip catching in her teeth. “Oh, um, thanks.”
“We only just met… but I’d really like to see you again.”
“O - Oh?” A small smile took over Elle’s features, her hands immediately searching her pockets for a pen. “Yeah! Okay! That would be great! I’ll just - um -” As she spoke, she pulled a pen out of her back pocket. “Give you my number or something?”
“And… and I love you! It’s what I’ve been trying to tell you all along.”
Elle felt her stomach drop and immediately her body began caving in on itself. “No, Jay,” she began, shaking her head. She took a couple of clumsy steps back, swallowing hard. “No, I’m not a good person to love. You know that. I can’t - You can’t - I’m not - I can’t give you what you need.” Her mouth had gone dry, and the only thing she could bring herself to do was stare longingly with eyes that resembled a puppy.
“I know you’re sad and upset. Let me be your distraction! I want to be your distraction!”
Sniffles were heard here and there, but Elle’s eyes eventually met Jay’s. “I’m not very good at being distracted. My dad says I have a one-tracked mind.”

*Dumps ice water over your head* “Your Netflix binge is using up all the broadband.” “Being a freshman sucks.” “Shut up. Just shut up!” “Did you tell them that I was dumb?! Did you??” nosie
*Dumps ice water over your head*
Noah jumped, a stream of intangible noises falling from his mouth followed by a string of words that would have gotten him a lot of marks on the tally chart. “Maisie!” he shouted. Breathing heavily, he pulled off his sweater and began to ring it out. “Why?!”
“Your Netflix binge is using up all the broadband.”
“Well - fuckin’ - You know what, Maisie?” Noah huffed, throwing his pillow at her from across the room. “Go find some somewhere else. Arrow is a really good show.”
“Being a freshman sucks.”
Noah shrugged, looking around the school. Char had already left the two of them to brave for themselves and he was still processing the fact that he and Maisie didn’t have first period together. Despite all of the panic that was running through his not so tiny freshman body, Noah shook his head and bumped Maisie’s shoulder. “Nah, it won’t be too bad. I think mom packed us some blueberry muffins for lunch.”
“Shut up. Just shut up!”
Noah stuck his tongue out at Maisie as he launched a grape in her general direction. “You should tell yourself to shut up because you need to shut up too.”
“Did you tell them that I was dumb?! Did you??”
“What?” Instantaneously, Noah’s entire body reacted. His arms reaching out to hold onto hers, legs crouching slightly so he was staring directly into her eyes. “Mais, no,” he shook his head, desperation setting in. “Maisie, look at me, okay?” The moment he held a fraction of her attention, his voiced dropped and his eyes searched hers frantically “Maisie, I would never tell a lie like that, okay? I would never, in a million kajillion years, ever say anything as dumb as that.”
Penelope paused, fixing her posture. She took a deep breath, forcing a smile. "Try harder,” she whispered. “I’m not one to get caught up in.”
“Don’t be afraid, we’ll make it out of this mess.”
“And if we don’t?” Sapphire sputtered, her head shaking ever so slightly. “Not everything happens like in the movies, Teddy.”
“I got tired of waiting."
Hearing Cameron’s voice flow from her cell phone was supposed to bring comfort. Sapphire let herself believe that this phone call would help her deal with all of the conflicting emotions that bundled underneath her heart.
She was wrong.
"What am I supposed to do, Cameron?” She found herself shouting into her cellphone, free hand planted in her hair as she paced her bedroom floor. “I can’t exactly get on the next flight and come running into your arms!"
Without missing a beat, Cameron retorted, his voice matching her level, "Well, why not?”
Despite the argument being petty, Sapphire found herself frustrated beyond belief. “I have a life here, Cameron! I have friends here! School, everything that I’ve ever known is here, in Rose Valley.” The brunette continued to shout her frustrations, hoping that might help alleviate some of the pain.
For the second time that night, she was wrong.
“I’m not there.” Cameron asserted, offended that Sapphire was so willing to pass that up for a life she continuously complained about.
The line went silent for a few moments, the only thing that could be heard was the breathing of the other. Cameron would never admit it, but he knew Sapphire’s was becoming shallow.
“You can’t ask me to give it up.” Tears threatened to sting her green eyes, but Sapphire refused to let them fall.
Her response only fueled Cameron, his anger and frustrations growing. “I would do the fucking same for you, Sapph! I would drop everything if you fucking asked me to!” Her voice may have dropped, but Cameron’s rose.
Sniffing, Sapphire sat down on her bed, shaking her head though she knew he couldn’t see her. “But I’m not asking you.” If she were to have spoken in a level above her whisper, her voice would have squeaked.
For the first time in their conversation, Cameron fell silent, leaving Sapphire to listen to his heavy breather. “Fine.” he finally snapped before terminating the call.
“I love you and that’s all I really know."
Ellie bit her lip in an attempt to hide the massive grin threatening to grace her lips. "That makes two of us…"
"Why are people always leaving?"
Taking a deep breath, Sapphire rested her head in the crook of Cameron’s neck. There was a long pause of silence, though not an awkward sort, as Sapphire searched for her answer. Her mouth was dry, though her eyes threatened to moisten. "They’re insecure with where they are in life. They don’t know what they’re feeling and not knowing scares them.” She tilted her head so she could catch his eyes and offered him a small smile.“But that doesn’t make it right…”
"I honestly believed in you.“
For a short moment, Sapphire was completely silent (something Teddy hadn’t seen in a long time) before she met his gaze. "Yeah, well, sometimes I’m worried you’re the only one."
"I know you better than that."
The moment Sapphire heard Cormac speak those words, she couldn’t decide if she was comforted or enraged. Huffing sharply, she stomped her foot lightly before looking around as if looking for an out. "What makes you think that?” she questioned, her voice rising slightly.
She should have known this would happen. She should have known it would happen the moment their teacher assigned them as partners on this stupid group project. She should have known it would happen the moment they showed up at the library. She should have known it would happen when she saw him kiss Ivy goodbye. She should have known it would happen when he asked her what was wrong and when he didn’t believe her when she insisted she was fine. The two could never be civil for more than two seconds and she hated herself for it.
“Can we please just do this so I can go home and get some sleep?"
“Never wanted this, never wanted to see you hurt.”
Sapphire’s hands frantically moved to wipe the tears from underneath her eyes, though that didn’t stop her from rolling her eyes at Cormac’s voice. “Yeah?” she asked, though her tone was more sarcastic than forgiving (but honestly, what else was he expecting?). “Well, it’s too late for that.”
“Hope you know it’s not easy for me.”
The phrase physically and mentally halted Sapphire Maddox, her eyes immediately darting to his, an eyebrow lifted. It took her a couple of moments to process what exactly Cormac had just said, but when she finally had, she sat back in her chair. Eyes never leaving the blonde, Sapphire’s mouth moved without sound for another few moments. After her bout of confusion, the only word that left Sapphire’s mouth was one over her favorites. “Wh - what?”
“You might think I’m bulletproof, but I’m not.”
“Then act like it!” Sapphire retorted instantaneously, her voice echoing off the walls. She searched Cam’s figure for a moment, her head shaking in the token I-can’t-believe-you way (an action that Cameron had grown accustomed to receiving). “God, you give me so much shit for protecting myself but we can’t even go out together without you throwing any mildly attractive girl in my face, Cam!” Her tongue darted out to wet her lips, mind reeling, heart sinking. “I don’t know what to believe half of the time! I don’t know if you hold my hand because you can or because you want to! I don’t know if you fall asleep with your arms looped around me because you can or because you want to! I don’t know if this means anything to you! I don’t know!” She took a moment to search his eyes, looking for any hint of comprehension. “So you can’t pull this with me.”
“You’ve got a smile that could light up this whole town.”
Julia tilted her head, a nervous giggle bubbling from her lips. Blushing slightly, she drew in her bottom lip and gazed intently at the boy that sat across from him. “And you have charm that oozes,” she said, pointing her french fry at the boy for emphasis.
“I’m sick and tired of your reasons."
His words made Sapphires jaw drop. She was forced to snuff out her anger with a very loud huff. ”My reasons? Did you ever stop to think your stupid reasons are the bane of my existence? Or is that exactly what you were aiming for?“
“I’m tired of being the last one to know.”
The immediate reaction Sapphire had to his statement was to roll her eyes and cross her arms over her chest - shocker. “Look, I’m sorry, the next time I actually manage to do something with my life, I’ll let you know. But don’t be shocked if it doesn’t happen anytime soon, I only have you to entertain myself.” She shifted her weight, eyes finding the ground after a short pause. “Why do you care, anyway? It’s only my art. We all knew it’d get out there eventually.”
“He can’t see the smile I’m faking.”
Sapphire sighed, pressing her lips into a small smile. “Well, maybe he doesn’t deserve to, Teddy,” she whispered, looking intently into his eyes. “Because I’m beginning to think that he doesn’t.”
“I know I had the best day with you today.”
Julia drew her gaze from the sun setting over the park to the boy who was sitting next to her, cheeks coloring slightly. A soft smile found her lips when Adrian met her gaze, and she couldn’t stop her stomach from flipping at their light. “Me too.”
“I’m in love with you.”
The moment Sapphire heard the words leave his mouth, a weight slid off of her shoulders. Slowly and carefully, her eyes moved from the floor and crawled up Cormac’s body until green eyes met blue. Until then, Sapphire thought recalls of elation and lightheartedness were only that of fairytales. “Really?” she found herself muttering, the sparkle in her eyes unlike any other they had possessed before. When she gained a small nod and a brilliant grin in response, Sapphire passed her trembling hands through her hair. “I love you, too.” A grin spread across her lips, and for once, she didn’t try to hide it.
“After everything I must confess, I need you.”
A shaky breath left Sapphire’s brightly painted lips, her eyes peering up at the blonde through her eyelashes. A small smile tugged on the corners of her mouth and she was positive that her chest would explode if her heart could beat any faster than it was beating now. With a few steps, Sapphire closed the gap between the two, her arms immediately circling around his neck. After god knows how long of desperate kisses and satisfied sighs, the two pulled away for air. Leaning her forehead against, the brunette could only muster a whisper for her response. “I need you, too.”
So I just started watching NMTD today. I've already seen all the videos, gone through this entire account, followed a bucket load of the actors and actresses, started listening to mixes and reading fanfiction and gotten my friends to watch it. I guess you could say I'm addicted? :)
