Traffick by Ellen Hopkins 5/5 ⭐️

This book is simply amazing and so inspiring! I think books like this are so important for young adult readers. It gives examples of how it can be so easy to turn to the path of least resistance when we’re struggling to meet our needs but how it only makes our problems worse. The characters in this book are all so courageous how they work themselves out of the problems they created for themselves and develop the lives and relationships they deserve. Definitely look into the trigger warnings before reading anything by Hopkins as her book content is heavy, but even with that being said, they provide a great opportunity for healing, insight and empathy.

A recently unsealed criminal complaint charges Miami-Dade County Police Officers Roderick Michael Flowers, 30, and Keith Maurice Edwards Jr., 28, with conspiring to traffic cocaine. It also charges Manuel Carlos Hernandez, 23, in the cocaine trafficking conspiracy, and Hernandez, Durojaiye Obafemi Monsuru Lawal, 24, and Trevanti McLeod, 23, all from South Florida, with money laundering crimes.
