Tumblr is the best place to write my little OC stuff.

So here we go with Christopher and Elliott.

I created them for the sole purpose of being background characters in another story, and they ended up being my favorite secondary couple, the tragic lovers.

And despite all the AUs I have for them, their main story is always my favorite and the saddest: impossible love, forced separation, and just when they can be together, when everything seems to be getting better, Eli loses Cris. Death is merciless, death is unfair, and it always acts according to its own will. Eli loses everything he loved most in the whole world; he is left alone, utterly alone, with love in his hands. The only memory he will have of his love will be Cris's son, and he can only promise himself that he will take care of him, take care of him as he couldn't take care of Cris.

(I'm going to omit that later the mother of this child separates him from Cris and it's a whole other drama, but I really love my tragic lovers)

Love Has Always Been a Choice (and Belly Literally Said It Out Loud, People!)

Let’s get one thing straight: love has never just been “chemistry.” Yeah, sure, hormones are fun — dopamine hits, heart racing, butterflies in your stomach. But if that’s all it is, then fuck it, go marry your cortisol levels. Real love has always been about choice!

Choosing to invest when it’s hard.

Choosing your partner as family, not just a fling.

And here’s the kicker: Belly literally said it through her damn mouth — “I choose you. I choose us.” that’s a fucking marker of real love. When someone says “I choose you,” they’re defining what love actually is: a conscious decision, every damn day.

This is why Bonrad falls apart on a psychological level. There’s no choice there, just trauma loops and hormonal chaos. Belly doesn’t choose Conrad, she gets yanked back by adrenaline and nostalgia.

Meanwhile with Jere? It’s choice stacked on choice. She chooses him in the small moments, in the crises, in the future plans. She chooses them as a family. And that’s always been the clearest marker of love across history, psychology, whatever framework you want.

But sure, let’s all pretend the girl saying ‘I choose us’ means absolutely nothing… and instead let’s buy into the fantasy that she’s got some delulu fucking hallucination in her head about Jere. Like she’s insane. Like it’s not love, it’s just “trauma” from losing Susannah and almost losing Steven, and Jeremiah is just her poor little coping mechanism to “forget” her real love for Conrad. PFFFFFHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 💀😂

That’s how a main lead loves a dark man.

There’s an insane amount of components of real love here: support, empathy, respect, protection, caring for his life and SOUL, tenderness, understanding him when no one else does and even questions HOW CAN YOU DEFEND HIM.

The way she suffers simply because he feels bad and is lonely, the way she cries because she sees him sinking deeper into the darkness and hurting.

Just a reminder of what real love looks like — because after Bonrad, some might’ve forgotten 😂

I know I promised the comic, but I haven't gotten it to a point that I'm happy with. I have been working on it though!

They're in love! Isn't that adorable? It would be a shame if something were to happen to them...

Anyway! I've been working story like it's the only thing keeping me alive, and I'm so excited to share more of it! I've really gotta start trying to post more often.
