“Hey, sorry to bother you, but our AC is out and I just wanted to ask if you maybe have a fan or something we could borrow until it’s fixed? I promise we’ll give it back.”
It felt like all he did lately was work. Wake up, fix the microwave that Fox broke, shower and find out the pipe was busted, spend a good twenty minutes learning how to fix a busted pipe on youtube, then work on fixing it, get dressed and finally felt like he had a minute to breathe but nope, Fox was screaming in the kitchen sitting on the counter because of a stray mouse running across the floor. Ryan was exhausted, mentally, physically, emotionally, if he could just pass out and never wake up again he’d be thankful, but he couldn’t do that. He sighed as he sat up after pulling himself out from underneath the old worn down truck. He was actually working now, making his money by fixing his neighbors vehicles, the only thing he knew how to do to make money. As he was wiping off the grease from his hands in an already dirty rag he heard the sound of approaching feet, glancing behind him and looking up the figure, “Can I help you with something?” He asked as he stood up pulling the bottom of his shirt up to wipe the sweat from his face and looking over at them again, “I’m really only helpful if it’s car problems though, i’m still working on knowing how to be a real handy-man.”
“Look, I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be a dick, but if you can talk more quietly that would be ideal. Or you could help me out here and get me a shot of anything you got in your booze stash to help out this hangover.”
Fox let the much needed feeling of adrenaline wash through her as she danced along to the music resonating around her. She could feel the bass pumping in her veins, the heat seeping into her skin, it was almost like the parties back home. Of course they were bigger and much more lavish, but she didn’t care. She’d run into Dot earlier so she was in a very good mood. She turned, grinning at the nearest person to her and yelling to be heard over the music. “Let’s get some shots!”
"Fuck," Ryan cursed pulling his hand back to examine the deep bleeding cut he just received from the jagged edge of metal siding he was trying to fix on his trailer. He squeezes his hand into a fist wondering if Fox had picked up a first aid kit like he asked, but doubted she would have found the time to yet. Rather than bother to go inside to find one he walked over to a idling stranger, smiling at them sheepishly as he held up his bleeding hand, "You wouldn't happen to mind being neighborly and helping me out before I bleed to death would you?"
“There’s just nothing better first thing in the morning than someone yelling at you from across the street ‘hey, babygirl, me and you could have some fun.’”
“Hades, no!” Kerrigan screamed after the explosion of fur that burst his way out of the trailer door. She stood, panic spreading over her features. Her eyes locked onto a figure standing idly by. “You! Help me catch him! For chrissake all I was trying to do was give you a bath, Hades!”
You know what-- you’re so gorgeous that I forgot my cheesy pick up line.
