This looks… fine? Good, even? It actually looks like a movie I’d be tempted to watch in a theater, you know?

(Wonder if it’ll keep itself more grounded to the horror compared to the IT films because I really dread to see another “Angel in the Morning” needle-drop moment but hey at least it seems a bit meaner violence-wise, though I’m not sure how they’ll manage handling any of the stuff related to the Lot from the novel which is just as vile as good ol’ Straker and Barlow)

But at the very least I’m hoping this gets a proper physical release in the future because you can fuck right off with this stream-exclusive Max Original clown business, David “took great courage deleting films and shows from existence” Zaslav.

Filming, and Thanking My Lucky Stars

Whenever I get to act, I thank my lucky stars.⭐️⭐️⭐️ I walk to set and before I even get shown to my trailer, I’ve probably said thank you to the heavens about 83 times. I then leave the door to my trailer open as much as possible, say hi and introduce myself to every single person on set who is there working hard - much harder than I am - just so the story can be told and our cast can look good. See, there are so many people who play a part in making a script evolve into a living story. And, I respect each and every person’s part so much. Because, y’all... It NEVER gets old. It always feels new. And, it always feels so good that I, in fact, feel like I’m floating as I’m walking from trailer to set. I just can’t stop smiling. Thank you, Jake Helgren and Autumn Federici Hish- and @ninthhousefilms - for making me float yet again, and for giving me the gift of playing another sassy lady - “Rhonda” - in your new thriller. Wow. My first thriller - the one genre of film I’ve longed to act in ever since my mom, Clarice McCoy, would sneak me out of school and let me play hooky just so we could see the latest killer thriller in our local theater. Acting and movies are my first love. I suppose they always will be. Because you know what they say... #Jurassic World trailer!!!!!!!

Let the extreem #fangirling commence!!!! I haven't been this excited for a movie since the last Harry Potter.

First impressions (contains spoilers of the trailer so watch it first)

The CGI isn't looking to good. Walking with Dinosaurs looked better. But I heard you can do a lot in post production but I'm skeptical.I love the actors they cast.  

The story sounds interesting and the world building in this trailer sounds very interesting I hope they will tell how they got the park up and running after the events of the first movie. The last part where the main actor rides a bike among the raptors looks bitchin'. I think that info was leaked that they somehow genetically engineered the raptors so they could be trained. That would be interesting to see what they use them for in the park. But I did facepalm a bit when they said we engineered a hybrid dinosaur xD WTF didn't the events of the first movie tell you what happens when you just randomly put creatures in the world you know nothing about?! Ya'll deserve to get eaten. 

Also I hope I'm not imagining this but that bit with the Mosasaurus is such a Stephen Spielberg reference as in it's a great while getting eaten by a dinosaur! Jaws just got chomped by Jurassic Park!!!!! :D

My biggest regret... No T-Rex :(

The Dirties (2013)

I had to choose between featuring this film on Netflix Night or here on Trailer Talk because I recently learned that it's available to stream! I realized that no explanation I could give would measure up to its trailer, and even then you'd be missing out if you didn't watch it, which I highly recommend. In light of the tragedies surrounding school shootings in the past decade, Kevin Smith called this film one of the most important thins you'd see all year. High praise.

With a budget of about $10,000 (plus the heaps of cash to get the licensing for music), the film is shot with a handheld camera not unlike the infamous Blair Witch Project. The ability presented by both Johnson and Williams both on and off the camera is staggering to me, though I obviously factor in their inexperience and age with this fantastic result. Often filmed with strangers unaware of the cameras, Johnson created a jarring portrait of life as a bullied kid and the measures this fictionalized version of himself takes to get even.

The Judge (2014)

RDJr playing to his strengths once again, the arrogant big shot that gets a life lesson when forced to interact with the demons of his past. And he has father issues. Not that I have a problem with that formula, especially with the knowledge that Downey Sr and Jr had a rocky relationship in the past that included the actor’s early introduction to drugs and alcohol. Anyway, not every decent film has to challenge the formula, and I’m excited to see Duvall and Downey duke it out before the final court battle.

They Came Together (2014)

Now this had a release date earlier this year, but it was only just released in the UK a couple weeks ago. Taking strictly from the trailer, I feel like this movie should've been made eons ago. Of course there are plenty of satirical movies breaking the fourth wall and poking fun at the formulas that make up an entire genre nowadays (I'm looking at you, RomCom and Horror), but I'm onboard with any movie involving Poehler and Rudd side by side. They had wonderful banter on his Parks and Rec guest appearance, so I'm glad the two are continuing to bless us with their chemistry.
