There must be something in the water at Falcom because how is it that they managed to make an adopted siblings to lovers romance not just palatable, but genuinely excellent, while also managing to fumble the most vanila milk set up to a romantic subplot in the history of video games.

#does they all need to be a little bit weird about it for the writers to lock in?#is that it #I think about every time Falcom found a new way to flub Elie and I get a little madder #but i think the biggest thing that still gets me is that ELIE WAS NOT THERE FOR THE FINAL FIGHT WITH ERNEST #WHY IS LLOYD TALKING THIS GUY BACK FROM THE EDGE HE HARDLY KNOWS HIM #god #and in Reverie every other member of the main crossbell cast gets to save lloyd at some point #everyone barring Elie #who had to be the one getting saved #Rixia drags his dying body all the way to the boat house and nurses him back to health #Tio gives him the encouragement to keep going after all that's happened #Noel pulls him out of an exploding factory on a motorcycle #Randy kills a guy on screen #just fucking shreds him with the fucking thang #and Wazy arrives at the last second to assist in the final operation #but Elie had to be saved and then she doesn't even contribute anything to story #GARCIA ROSSI DOES MORE IN THESE GAMES TO FACILITATE DEVELOPMENT IN LLOYD #Elie doesn't even try going after Mariabell and at least Zin seeks Walter out to understand why #and he at least tries to set him on the right path #Elie just shrugs and goes “i guess Bell's evil now”#trails series #trails in the sky #trails from zero #trails to azure #trails into reverie
