As children my sister and I swam competitively. I was a year younger than everyone in my grade so I swam against kids that were larger and stronger than me. My sister was a consistent first and second place ribbon winner whereas I was thrilled to get sixth place (out of 12 or more) because that was the last place ribbon rewarded. After that, no ribbon. It made me work harder because I wanted the ribbons. There is no opportunity to build character or better sportsmanlike conduct when everybody wins. Life isn't fair prepare children early...

The idea of "punch through" in order to generate power is not the idea you think it is.

Punches should be delivered with speed, but the issue of power is directly tied to the retraction of a punch.
