Whitwo (and foongy)
random faitsu idea:
instead of just being a team plasma grunt, faitsu was part of shadow triad's counterpart, the light triad, who are deeply loyal to n like how shadow triad are to ghetsis. at young age, the triads were picked and trained by ghetsis to become skilled in battling, ninja speed and stealth as future bodyguard for n. through this, she and n came to know each other (with her developing a crush on him and him becoming friends with her). she has a knack for acting (enough to be an actress) and may practice disguising (for espionage). aside from this, she is competent at battling (as she can actually utilize foongy's clear smog), has extensive knowledge in healing (her favorite subject is status condition studies). Despite her clumsiness, she has fast reflexes (she was able to dodge rakutsu's birthday gift), she can be scary if you anger her(like how she gave ghetsis a speech). She can totally pick up on things (like how she decipher rakutsu's identity on her own). she would be a threat if she was trained and i think it would be totally a surprise to most people that faitsu has this kind of past, esp if they knew her as a cutesy klutz.
anyways, maybe its just me wanting to see the badass side of faitsu more or my "what-ifs" about faitsu as a member of team plasma. like, despite her empathetic and kind nature hence pokemon wanting to protect her, i still want to see more of her fighting for the pokemon's sake and a serious battle at that. she would probably hate battling but if its for the sake of protecting both human and pokemon, i think she would fight. i wanted to see her more being connected to a villainous team with a unique and mysterious role like the shadow triad, seeing that she is based on a pokegame protagonist. also, who wouldn't love a battle between faitsu and rakutsu not just in pokemon battling but combating too but they would have the grace to team up too and that would make them like the baddest couple who can scare you or kill you with just their fighting skills both in pokemon and in combats too lmao. also, tbh, i think ghetsis would have an interest and took advantage of honing faitsu if he knew her knack of attracting pokemon because, who would even let go of that valuable who will help him in his own evil goals right? he even did this to n so i think it would be the same for faitsu if he noticed it but he would be also careful when it comes to her because she can pick on things and if he slipped, she would notice his schemes and would ruin his plans.
sorry for making this long, as i just miss faitsu, rakutsu, n, the b2w2 and bw gang. it's been so long yet i feel that there should have been more when b2w2 was released huhuh.
ps: what would be the perfect pokemon for triad!faitsu??
My piece for the special gala 2023 event ^_^
we weren't meant for each other and it's fine
(written before the ending for the B2W2 arc was released/ translated) rakutsu is in the hospital and faitsu visits, until one day she can't words: 2710 cross-posted from AO3
She plays with the blanket on his bed, looks at the boy sleeping with his hair in his face and bandages wrapped around his neck and head, and wonders how he looks like an angel with downturned eyes and full lips and button nose when he’s asleep. Her fingers reach out to the space between his brows, and softens the furrow there, before tracing the edges of his face. She flutters around his high cheekbones, down to the cut of his jawline and to the corner of his lips, almost ghosting them before catching herself.
Team Whitley of RiverClan! Whitley was in Ghetsis' gang of rogues as a kit, but joined RiverClan when the group split. Foongy is a close friend of hers. Gigi was a kittypet who ran away, temporarily joined the clan, then left, then became a sort-of ally not officially part of the clan.
In order: Whitley, Foongy, Gigi, Accelgor

this weird essay on why I thought Whi-two was disappointing:
I’ve been thinking for a long time why Whi-two fell short for me. Of course, part of the reason why is her lack of battling (but that is purely subjective). But, what’s the real reason? Whi feels like a passive protagonist to me.
IMO, Whi-two simply isn’t shown her strongest character trait enough: her compassion towards Pokémon and against controlling them. When we are shown when she’s at the warehouse, she’s shown feeding the Pokémon, but we never get to see the positive impact she had on the Pokémon except for Foongi. When Whi tells Lack not to use his Genesect because it would discharge thus hurting it, it was something that was already said out loud. When she tells him not to use Keldeo, they were in the ruins where the Pokémon can communicate their thoughts, where Keldeo displayed discomfort. Neither of these moments show a deeper understanding of Pokémon compared to other dexholders. She just doesn’t like asking Pokémon to do things for her because she thinks it’s controlling. Her character feels bland because she isn’t shown doing all that much, but we’re just told that she does.
Whi also seems to be a shadow of N. N who goes through a similar arc of relearning what Team Plasma truly does, and she even idolizes him to a weird degree. But her going with N to free the Pokémon never felt earned to me. I think the issue with Whi is that she does a lot of thinking, but there’s not enough demonstration. She talks and talks and talks, but in a story where Pokémon battling or bonds play such a huge role, Whi falls flat because her character is written in a way she can’t do much.
I feel the solution to this is friendship evolutions. Imagine: Whi who could understand and connect with these Pokémon on such a deep level, that even if she is not their trainer, they still evolve through friendship. As opposed to Ghetsis who runs frustration on his hydreigon, someone who truly makes even his own Pokémon hate him. Something simple, like have more Pokémon follow her.
In her dream when White asked her, she said that she wanted a world where Pokémon can live as they please without getting hurt, and if they choose to, stay alongside humans. I feel like the main catalyst for her to reach this conclusion is her conversation with the sacred swords. But I wish there was more in the manga that showed her realizing the benefit of Pokémon living besides humans, instead of her just learning from and agreeing with the swords.
When I think of solutions to fix what I think is wrong with her character, all I can think of is an arc too similar to N’s. Because Whi is like a shadow to N, she held the same ideals, went through the same conflict of rethinking what Team Plasma truly did through liberation (and how that negatively affected people), and reached a similar conclusion to his. Whi’s arc is N’s arc with a different person and personality, but while N’s arc is fully realized, Whi’s is not.
Anyway that’s the take, character analysis/slander. Whatever you call it. Take it how you will, if you disagree, disagree the hell out of me. This is just how I contextualized why I didn’t think Whi was as good as other dexholders.
