Athletic Sims love the Sports channel
Childish Sims love the Kids channel
Dislike Children Sims hate the Kids channel
Natural Cooks love the Cooking channel
Nurturing Sims like the Kids channel
Virtuosos love the Music channel
Technophobes hate any channel
The likeness of a channel for Sims who don’t have any of these trait will be based on their age just like in an unmodded game. Sims can either hate, dislike, like or love a specific channel.
From The Sims 2 Prima Guide (page 276):
Ages prefer different channels as reflected in each age’s Fun satisfaction speed and Fun maximum when watching the channel. The more a Sim likes a channel, the longer they’ll watch. If they hate a channel, they’ll exit sooner. Sims turning on a TV or joining it when no other Sims are watching will change to their age’s preferred channel.

Required EPs: University if you also install the Sports channel one. None otherwise.
