I used to be a huge sucker for traitor ochako theory (still am lowkey) and now i read fics of traitor/villain ochako and i always smile when it's just her hanging out with the LOV and imagining her attempting to be evil lel

I saw your post about Uraraka being the traitor. Thought that was an interesting hot take so looked for some posts about it and long story short it’s 2am and I’m trying not to actually scream at how much sense it makes for her to be the traitor.

RIGHT???? ITS SUCH A GOOD THEORY. Like gah it makes SO much SENSE. And there's so many posts explaining it better than I could, but I'm so happy that you vibe with it alsjfjla. I know it can be hard for people to get into because it can be painful, but I look at it in terms of how it affects the story as a whole and I can really focus on that and ignore everything else. Why we don't have a backstory for her yet, how she has her own apartment, she could do it for the money, her not wanting the kaminosquad to go rescue katsuki, lots of other things......it has a lot of support and evidence. NOT TO MENTION HER NAME ALONE ALLUDES TO IT. So really!!!! It sold me!!! I'm happy you got into it, nony!!! Its good!! I was telling Mel it's one of those theories that's perfect for writers because you can do so much with it. Its on the same level of fun and pain as Dabi is a Todoroki and Dad For One. (Which I'm also into.)

In your opinion, how would ochako being the traitor works?

Definitely not in canon given how little we were given for the traitor but-

Ochako being from a poor background is actually a good start. Her family is struggling, she can’t get into high paying jobs either because she can’t afford the tutoring or school fees, and she’s desperate for anything because she loves her family that much. She wants them to be comfortable but society is harsh on those who can’t afford to rise up the ranks. 

So, in comes AfO. He has connections, he has power, he has money. He plays on Ochako’s love for the family and makes promises. They will have all they need if she just helps him. So she does. Her Quirk is good enough for her to get into UA, she even meets Midoriya, and her close friendship with him means that AfO has the perfect way into gathering vital information on Midoriya and both All Might/OfA. 

But Ochako isn’t a bad person. She grows close to Midoriya, to her class, and she actually makes friends. She starts doubting what she’s doing, but she can’t quit because now her family is in danger. She’s found herself in too deep and is now stuck between a rock and a hard place. 

Obviously she would have more screentime to build her as a character away from Midoriya, go into her hardships, her familial love, and start building her up as a character that the audience really loves. All that would make the reveal far more impactful, because Ochako is beloved and she is a main player, but she’s now the reason why every attack on UA and Midoriya happened. This would be a big blow for the heroes, and further develop both her and Midoriya’s relationship. 

Whether he forgives her or not, what happens to her all depends on how you’d wanna take it.
