I have recently became obsessed with Gravity falls again specifically bill cipher and Stanford Pines and every time I try to draw I keep going back to them so here are all my unfinished bill fanart😋🫶

Starting from my first then to my most recent

This was my first attempt at a human design for him I took a lot inspiration from other designs I loved I also wanted to give him a rat kinda vibe cause he’s a rat man imo

Drawing 1) This is my LEAST favourite I was kinda in a art block and completely forgot how to draw so it turned out disgusting didn’t even finish colouring it I was already over it he’s giving dutch van der lin vibes tbh feel like he’s gonna make me hand over all my money only to tell me he needs more money also I decided the way the scars on his face sat in this one

Drawing 2) Don’t really like this one ether it’s wonky and the proportion are all off it’s also the first time I drew Stanford I tried doing bill with long hair but I just wasn’t feeling this drawing so I scraped it

This one I really like it’s simple but whatever this is when I was getting more used to drawing him

This one I scraped as well I was trying to design an outfit but failed I do like the cane and the hat tho I’ll try keep those in his design

This this is where it got good omg I like this design a lot I took inspiration on Egyptian/Arab clothing mostly cause I was running out of ideas but then I saw a design of an Egyptian Bill Cipher cause yknow he’s a pyramid and those are Egypt… yeah anyway I added more triangles to the design just cause

people wanna meet aliens so bad but they can’t handle humans having different gender identities so imagine how outraged they’ll be when they find out the aliens are transgender and queer

Transgender individuals of an alien species with extreme sexual dimorphism. Maybe the females of the species are much bigger and a transfem alien feels they can't "pass" since they're too small. Or maybe males have display organs like horns, frills or colorful tails and a transmasc individual wearing prosthetic versions of those to fit in.

One would hope it would lead to an advanced society where any gender could present however they liked, and anyone could have any pronouns and use prosthetics or undergo any kind of surgery to look/present however they liked...

I think that trans people are a side effect of being a species intelligent enough to comprehend our own existence and have a complex sense of self, so there's most likely trans individuals in every sapient species.

So I have a character his name is Navet and he's and alien that are kinda like the doctor with the reincarnation thing he is a human female and due to a curse without any of his memories of his previous life I know everyones transition is different but would it be ok for him to for the majority of the story to not try to appear masculine and just goes as is cause he finds other things much more perilous like being hunted down and trying to break the curse and he finds binders are uncomfortable

I’m assuming you define your character as a trans man within this incarnation.

I would say this plot is more or less acceptable, but referring to someone as “female” based on their body is not so acceptable, so maybe avoid that. There are trans men who exist who do not bind, and reasons like it being uncomfortable or just not worth it are totally fine. The important thing to remember when writing trans characters is to just not let your narration imply this is the singular, universal trans experience.

I do have a suggestion though regarding writing a trans alien. 

If he realizes he is an alien, and knows that he is a man in the beginning, it might be worth taking into account that gender roles, ideas and expectations vary based on culture. It would make sense that his native alien culture may have conflicting ideas of gender to where he is now. (Which is something the majority of writers seem to overlook when writing aliens.)

If he is living on earth and in western culture in most of his memory, then that will influence how he considers gender stuff, but not necessarily enough that he doesn’t feel something missing. 

How he sees and confronts his own identity and feelings surrounding it will mostly be whether he has yet self discovered that he is a man, if he has the language and community for that. It’s very common for trans people to suppress or compartmentalize gender dys/euphoria before we have the knowledge and context to realize that’s what it is.

So if he has knowledge of the concept of where he comes from, and where he could belong (or not belong) within that setting: his sense of self would likely be based in his past cultural sense of gender. 

With humans, a lot of cultures that have dealt with colonization have lost their past language for certain genders and identities. In the absence of this, people who are of these genders still exist, and coin new terms to fill the cultural chasm created in being forced to forget, like two-spirit. (This is binarism: the form of violence that tries to replace racialized genders with a colonial binary.) 

This is maybe not the same as what’s going on with your character if there hasn’t been cultural conflict or war on his native people, but a lot of narratives surrounding binarism and its affects on perception of identity might be helpful for research.

If there’s some pretty solid and acknowledged similarities in gender stuff between where he is from and where he is then it might be worth pointing it out as being strangely coincidental at some point. (Kind of like when the Doctor is asked why he sounds like he’s from the north - “lots of planets have a north.”)
