this does track with my anecdotal circle of trans friends and acquaintances, and i do know that this reality is incredibly divisive in our community and on tumblr - but it's worth saying that even if you're not interested in the supreme court ruling within the scope of the military, the trans ban absolutely sets a precedent for discrimination in other federal government positions that have nothing do with the military - and for private employers to justify exclusion.
the courts are allowing the government to declare on paper that trans people are inherently mentally ill / unstable / cannot perform X, Y, Z tasks, and this will have repercussions for all of us down the line. haven't seen this talked about on here, for obvious reasons i'm sure, but i figured it was worth sharing.

Im not a lawyer or attorney and this isnt legal advice but all these trans women being banned without violating tumblr TOS feels like grounds for a class action discrimination lawsuit.

I don't understand why the fuck they think this is okay to do this as men who actually identify as men, when they hate trans women for doing the same despite being women.
There is no way to enforce any ban on trans women in women's bathrooms without a very obviously privacy-invading tactic.
Trans women are women, and they are more than four times more likely to be victims of violent crime than to be the perpetrators.
