I'm genuinely really interested in opening my own mind and speaking to people I disagree with. I'm going to use the FTMblr community bombarding my page lately as an opportunity to do this.

I'm a TERF and I disagree with gender ideology. If you are reading this and you identify as transgender, then my DMs are open to sincerely hearing your viewpoint. I'm not going to be hostile or aggressive at all. I just want to hear another perspective.

I'm curious to see if I will finally be presented with an explanation for gender ideology that does not contradict with my own experience as a butch feminist.

i could never participate in a trans debate because i’d give a really good and well worded argument but when someone asked for a source i’d rip my shirt off, exposing my tits, and shout “LIVED EXPERIENCE BEEYOTCH”

idk, I feel like it's far more 'progressive' to say 'hey, women can look like a million different things and still be women' and 'hey, men can be non-typical and still be men' than caving and saying 'well, you don't conform to gendered stereotypes so you must be some new made up bullshit' or 'how hateful for you, a woman, to not want to include men in your fight for female equality and rights, bigot!'

Im sure it's been pointed out before that TIFs present even more feminine after coming out than masculine but I wonder why exactly so I can explain it better to others who too notice this phenomenon. Is it wanting to be rewarded by being gender conforming while also reaping the social "oppression points" of pretending to be a gnc male? Or do you think there's more to it?

as a pre t guy who looks like a 13 year old emo boy…..you do not want trans men in the women’s bathroom. even now, multiple women have asked me if i was in the correct area. i have made multiple women uncomfortable.

Ye just an interesting look into how some comic purists act when confronted with concepts regarding Gwen’s transness. My last comment brings up how the Spiderverse film series is about reinterpretations of the Spiderman character coming together. I have expanded on this in a separate comment thread.

(When I say purists I mean the purists who argue that she isn’t trans because she isn’t trans in the comics.)

I am perfectly fine with people having their own beliefs about the character. I am not ok with people denying my beliefs without evidence that she isn’t trans. The comics are their own interruption of Spider Gwen’s character, and I’m happy for the comics to continue writing her as cis, but the film series has another interruption of the character so I don’t think her gender identity in the comics is relevant.

I have also seen other folks claim that “Nobody (cis, straight people) is ever allowed to have nice things.”

Cis and straight people get all the representation and all the nice characters. Trans people usually get one character in a blue moon who usually isn’t essential to the piece of media. Often they’re a side character or a joke. We, trans people, are not allowed nice things.

It would be amazing if we had a mainstream trans superhero who makes trans people feel empowered and loved.
