I'm sick to my stomach with everything I’ve learned about transethnic/transfat/transabled identifying people tonight. I’m disappointed in the tumblr community for allowing this type of culture to grow and thrive. I’m angry that there are those out there so willing to undermine the difficulties real trans people must face. I’m pissed that there are people trolling by smearing their face with black paint and attaching the term “trans” to any part of what they’re doing. 
Transgender identities are real. They are a constant struggle to live with. It’s not something to belittle, joke about, or try and “get in on”.

(PS. I understand that there are people who genuinely believe that they should have no legs etc. as I have met one or two of these people. HOWEVER, this is not the case for the majority of the ‘transabled’ community I’ve seen on tumblr. If are genuinely struggling with this insanely hard mental illness I support you and hope you get the help you need)

The thing that bothers me the most about this transethnic thing is that, there are some things where its legit? like adoption? being taken as a  child into a culture that doesnt match with your body, traditionally?? Or religious conversation? moving somewhere and slowly taking on its traits as until you are more close to it than wherever you are from?

and now radical tumblr has turned it into a disgusting means of taking power and voice away from social justice, away from non-whites, away from the queer community, and turn us into a fucking mockery. Its right up there with neo-pronouns and often the two come attached.

I understand why this is an issue that should be approached with caution, as I'm not PoC so it might be better if a PoC would address this, but I don't know why the concept of 'trans ethnic' isn't likened to transgenderism more often because to me they seem comparable. Race is a social construct, like gender, but one that has a huge affect on the oppressed class (PoC and women respectively) and the oppressor cannot just 'identify into' by wearing the clothes, 'feeling' etc, it's disrespectful

Completely agree! People will scoff at the idea of "otherkin", will be outraged at the atrocity of "trans racial" or "trans ethnic"... but transgender? Yep, all good, no problem, 100% real!
