ETA: Goodness! I have heard from two people already! I dearly love Tumblr, it is so full of trans people and neurodivergence.

Is anyone on here a skinny trans man?

I bought my trans son a compression top for swimming, and he didn't like it; it wasn't enough compression for his needs. I'm terrible at returning things and now the tags are missing and it's been so long it's well past any reasonable return policy so now I just have a compression top that needs a new home.

It's this one here, in size small, high compression, grey with white trim.

To be clear, I am looking to GIVE this away, not sell it. So if you are a trans man, size smol, or you know a trans man, size smol, that could use a compression swimmee top, please let me know!

I keep thinking about my parents' reactions to my son's transness. Like on the one hand, they did much better than I worried they would. And their thinking "makes sense," in that it's the way they were raised to think and it's still the way a lot of cisgender neurotypicals think. Plus, they're worried about their grandkid going through life on "hard mode."

They don't understand that he's been playing in this mode the entire time.

They're worried about the decision he's making.

It's not a decision.

They're afraid he'll do something irreversible and change his mind, but I ask you:

Who is out there, going through the difficult process of coming out, taking several years of hormones, going through surgeries (in the phenomenally expensive American medical system, no less), when they aren't REALLY sure it's what they want?

Like who is going through all those steps on just a whim?

They heard he's starting the process and asked, "is he sure?"

I heard him say hormones and surgery and thought, "wow - he's really sure."

Children are their own people leading their own lives. It's important to respect that. I'm not saying it's always easy - my stepdaughter had to take us to task recently when we catastrophized over the idea of her moving out of the state. But you should try. Really hard.
