Transcending Time by @jann-the-bean
On a very relative sense, the idea of time is all about measuring the length and the duration of our existence, but the purpose of our timeless soul is to experience moments that defy the very idea of time - like ask someone that's engrossed in something he's passionate about, he'll forget the count of time or ask someone that's deeply immersed in prayers, he'd have surpassed the concept of time or ask someone that's intensely making love with his beloved, he simply would have invaded time itself. In these precious moments, the idea of time doesn't even exist because we would have literally transcended them. Live for such moments, make these your favourite collectibles...

A cream and Nightkiller fanfiction part 7
After having the weekend to relax, the twins headed back to campus. Strangely, the vivid dreams they’d repeatedly endured had halted the previous night. Allowing the siblings to enjoy their much needed rest.
The day began like any other school day. The siblings gathered their belongings, preparing to leave for the main campus.
The twins joined their friends at the library who were conversing about the party they attended. Dream joined in the conversation, mentioning how thrilled he was to have experienced such an event. Nightmare just listened intently while adding his own opinion every so often.
Finally, the time arrived to head to class. Everyone grabbed their possessions and headed towards class. Sitting in their preferred seats, the gang waited for class to begin.
It was the usual routine, except this time several new faces appeared. Based on the rumors, they were the new students the whole school chatted about. Dream wondered if Killer would also appear.
Dream perked up once he saw the familiar face of Killer. He was more than thrilled since he befriended him from the party. Maybe he could join their group of friends. He was about to wave but froze in his tracks when he noticed who accompanied Killer.
The skeleton had two different colored eyes. The right a bright crimson red, the other a pure, dazzling, white. Dream felt drawn to said skeleton. His soul began to flutter, as well as ache. What a peculiar feeling. Dream couldn’t help but keep his gaze on him as he took an empty seat. Something deep within his being screamed to rush to his side. He wasn’t sure why.. but he felt as if he’d known him forever.
Nightmare, upon noticing Cross groaned. Great, of course with his luck he would be in the same class as Cross. However, when his gaze met Killer’s, it caused Nightmare’s soul to thump loudly against his chest. He felt a melancholic feeling deep within him. He tore his eyes away. He pursed his lips together confused at his own reaction. He quickly glanced at Killer once more, who’d taken an empty seat a few rows across from him.
The violet skeleton was confused and frustrated by his emotions. He’d never met this skeleton before, but somehow there was something familiar about him.
As the class progressed, the twins found themselves unable to focus. Their thoughts kept wandering to the new students.
For what appeared to be eons, the class finally ended. The twins couldn’t help but wonder if they shared other classes together. Fortunately for them, they didn’t share math or psychology with the new skeletons.
Upon entering their history class, they almost dropped their bags when they saw the familiar faces again. They were sitting a few rows back from the twins’ seats.
Dream clenched the strap of his bag, feeling his heart palpitate. Nightmare’s breathe hitched in his throat when he caught Killer glancing towards him.
Recollecting his thoughts Nightmare cursed inwardly, marching towards his seat. What was wrong with him!? Why was it whenever he made eye contact with that stupid skeleton, he acted like a fool? What’s worse was that for the whole entire day Nightmare couldn’t stop thinking about him. He could feel heat rising to his face the longer he thought about the eyeless skeleton.
Dream on the other hand became a blushing mess, the more he thought about the bicolored skeleton. As he sat down, his soul continued to race and his thoughts became a jumbled mess. He placed a hand over his soul in hopes of calming himself, to no avail. Dream kept finding himself thinking about the red eyed skeleton.
Nightmare grew increasingly infuriated as the class progressed. These new and confusing emotions wouldn’t let him concentrate. With class finally over, Nightmare rose from his seat. “Dream, I’m going to the library, I have to return a few things.” This was just an excuse, he needed some privacy to sort his feelings. Being honest, he was somewhat ashamed of himself and didn’t want his brother to notice.
“Ah, ok, I’ll just wait outside.” Dream stated as he packed his belongings.
Dream failed to notice the hue that began forming on Nightmare’s cheeks, as he dashed out the door. He was too focused on his own rampant emotions. Maybe some fresh air would help settle him down.
~~~
Upon entering his first class, it took every ounce of strength for Killer to not rush towards Nightmare. His whole being shook with joy upon seeing his face. Those violet eyes.. oh, how many times he imagined meeting him in person.
However, it was a bittersweet moment. Unfortunately, he was positive that the violet skeleton remembered almost nothing about their past lives. He would only seem like a lunatic approaching him suddenly.
Clenching his fist in frustration, Killer decided it would be best to take things slow for now. Yet, he couldn’t take his eyes away from the former prince. How could he? It was the love of his life. He’d waited years to see him again. Though, now that he was within reach he could do absolutely nothing.
~~~
Upon making his first eye contact with Dream, Cross almost burst into tears. He wanted nothing more than to embrace the golden skeleton, and never let go.
He wanted to apologize for failing him in their past lives. He wanted to confess his feelings he’d kept confined long ago.
This was his chance to finally be together with his love. They wouldn’t have to worry about social status, they could just finally be themselves. However, he knew the golden skeleton most likely remembered nothing. Or, that’s how it appeared. Cross didn’t want to scare Dream, so he decided he’d keep his distance for now. Though his soul ached having to continue to bottle his emotions.
~~~
Nightmare entered the library and sighed in relief, seeing no other being there except for the librarian.
He removed his bag from his back, placing it on a table. He fumbled through his belongings trying to find books to return. Upon finding them he placed them in the “return books” section. Finding comfort in his solidarity, he decided to roam through the library for a few minutes.
Scanning the shelves, a book caught his attention. He grabbed the book, scanning the summary on the back of it. It appeared interesting, so the violet skeleton decided to read a few pages.
Too engrossed in the book he failed to notice the presence of another student.
“Uhm, excuse me.” The sound of a familiar voice caused Nightmare to snap his head up.
His soul skipped a beat when he realized he was face to face with an eyeless skeleton. The skeleton in front of him widened his eyes, appearing to be surprised to find Nightmare here.
Dumbfounded, the violet skeleton failed to form coherent thoughts, much less form words. His sockets began to burn as he felt tears begin to well inside his sockets. Was he about to cry? That doesn’t make any sense.. why would he cry? The only time he’s felt this way were when he woke up from his dreams.
“Are.. you ok?” Killer extended a hand but stopped when Nightmare took a step back.
“I-I’m fine..” Nightmare’s voice trembled. “It’s none of your concern anyway..”
“Fair enough, I suppose. Though.. you look pale.. like you’ve seen a ghost.. are you sure you’re ok?” Killer asked, worry embedded in every word.
As Nightmare looked into the sockets of the skeleton in front of him, his soul screamed to embrace Killer. Nightmare’s will began to crumble the longer they stared at each other. Killer began taking a step forward, attempting to see how the smaller skeleton would react.
When Nightmare didn’t move or deny Killer’s advancement, he continued to gradually approach Nightmare.
Killer was only a foot away from Nightmare. Slowly, he reached forward wanting to place a hand on Nightmare’s cheeks.
However, before he could, the sound of students approaching snapped Nightmare back to reality. He quickly backed away, stunned at how close he’d allowed Killer to get. He briskly reached for his bag before speeding out the door. The tears that he’d been holding finally spilled, rolling down his cheeks.
“What just happened..?” Nightmare muttered to himself. He was always wary of keeping his personal space and no one but Dream was ever allowed to get close. Shaking his head, he continued walking forward. It’s best to meet with Dream for now.
~~~
Leaves rustled with the gentle breeze, as Dream waited outside for Nightmare. Knowing his brother, he would most likely be a few minutes. Nighty was such a bookworm and lost sense of time at libraries.
He watched as other students walked out of the building. The faint noise of students talking filled the vacant air. Sighing, Dream reluctantly decided to continue with his studies.
He needed to ensure he didn’t miss anything since he was too preoccupied thinking about a certain skeleton. Unzipping his bag, he grabbed his laptop, along with a notebook stuffed with loose papers.
At that moment, a gust of wind blew away the pages. Dream manages to grab a few of them that were close by, but a few others had flown out of his reach. He was about to head in the direction, the papers had blown when, he saw a hand pick up the piece of paper.
When he glanced up, he was surprised to see the crimson eyed skeleton. As the skeleton approached Dream, he couldn’t help but notice sadness reflect in the others eyes.
“I’m assuming this belongs to you?” Cross asked as he extended his hand with the paper.
Dream glanced at the paper then back up to Cross. “Mhm.. thank you..” The golden eyed skeleton extended his own hand. As he grasped the paper his fingers lightly brushed against Cross’. It sent a quick shock through his system causing him to involuntary flinch.
“Oh, sorry! Are you ok? Guess some static built up or something..” Cross mentioned, his gaze never parting from Dream’s.
“Y-yeah! Probably!” For whatever reason, Dream was a nervous wreck.
The golden skeleton could no longer hear the distant voices, nor see anyone except Cross. How strange.. although he was a complete stranger he felt completely safe just by his presence.
It appeared as if Cross had raised a hand towards Dream, but ended placing it on the back of his head.
“Uhm.. so.. my friend and I are fairly new here.. and.. uh... it’d be nice if someone could kinda... help us out a little?” The bi-colored skeleton asked flustered, a light purple hue tainting his cheeks.
The golden skeleton felt heat rising to his face. Wait, was he asking for help? His help..? Duh! Of course he would he’s a new student, anyone would ask for help! As his thoughts became a jumbled mess, Dream struggled to form a response.
“R-right! How rude of me! I-uh friends! I mean! We can meet at the library in the morning tomorrow! Uh- not just us of course! M-my friends and I meet in the morning! Yeah! Uhm we meet around 7:15! So yeah! See you there!!” Dream stated, stumbling on his words.
Mortified by his actions, Dream’s face turned a golden mess. He clumsily grabbed his belongings and headed towards the library. “Ugh.. I want to die!” The flushed skeleton mumbled.
Once the twins met, they immediately agreed to head straight back to their dorm.
~~~
“Ugh... that didn’t go well..” Killer grumbled as he approached Cross.
“Pfft.. even in this life he’s adorable...” Cross smiled to himself. “Uh.. But yeah, our meeting didn’t go as expected. Except.. maybe we can join their little group? He invited us to join his friends at the library tomorrow.”
“Hmm, that’s some progress I guess..” Killer sighed. “Hopefully, Nightmare won’t decide to kill me when he sees me. He’s still cautious as ever..”
“Heh, yeah, he sure is. Alright well, let’s go back.” Cross stated, walking towards their apartment.
Yay! So now we finally get to see the twins interact with Cross and Killer! Don’t know if this is what you guys expected.. anyway Nightmare is very wary of Killer! Poor Killer he just wanted to spend quality time with Nighty! As for Cross, well he does too but doesn’t want to freak Dream out. Hmm I wonder how their relationship will develop later in the story
" I thought I lost you " he spoke through shaken breath that echoed in her sensitive ears. They had been separated for a lifetime, the memories of their previous life were nothing but fog for the last time they had seen each other she was but a small child who he guarded and watched over. Hesitant in his touch her guardian got down close to her, afraid that the moment he would touch her she would turn to dust and be nothing but a memory long since passed again, her touch traced the features of his face as his large hands carefully held her proved to Alina that he was real and he was right there in front of her causing a gentle smile to grace her gentle expression. " I'm sorry for being so late my Guardian " Alina spoke softly as she gazed into familiar eyes. " You harbor so many scars now... I-I'm sorry... " Her guardian spoke covering her apology with his own as she simply smiled with a quiet reply back " Scars are- a part of growing up, even you, you have grown so much since you were but an egg and a mischievous little imp when you went from being my best friend to my Guardian... and even you harbor scars now.." A comfortable silence rested in the space between them for a moment before being broken by her Guardian's voice. " You remind me so much of your father as you are now, he would be so proud of you- " His soft and sincere voice reaching Alina's very core, as tears began to fall down her face she hugged onto her guardian burying her face into the fur that decorated the collar of his leather coat. Her guardian had no body heat, no blood ran through him, and despite not having a beating heart, he was just as human as any living being even though he was just data brought into the human world by magic. He was all she had ever known as a kid, her only friend, her sanctuary from a mother using her to make a suitable vassal for her own needs.
A Cream and Nightkiller fanfiction Part 1
TW: violence/ angst
“Dream!!” The royal guard shrieked as he observed the person he loved be impaled.
“Cross..” The prince managed to croak as marrow spilled from his fresh wound.
Consumed by wrath Cross bolted forward dealing a fatal blow to the guilty party. Their lifeless body hit the floor with a thud. The prince weakened by the injury stumbled forward. The royal guard gently caught the falling skeleton and gently assisted them to the floor.
The royal guard gently cradled Dream he bit his lips attempting to hold back sobs.
“Heh.. what’s wrong Cross..? It’s not like you to make that expression..” Dream weakly smiler while breathing heavily.
“Don’t waste your time talking.. we can... we can still heal you..” Cross felt tears start to burn at the edge of his sockets. Why was this happening? It wasn’t supposed to end this way. He hadn’t even confessed his feelings yet.
Dream shook his head taking another shaky breath. “No.. it’s too late.. you know.. I’m glad I met you Cross-“ The golden eyed skeleton has a violently coughed out some marrow-tinged sputum. “You made.. life... worth living...”
“Dream..” the royal guard sobbed tears streaming down his face and landing on the smaller skeleton in front of him. “Don’t... you can’t go...”
Dream’s bottom lip began to quiver as he choked back tears as his feet slowly faded into dust. “Tell me... do you believe.. we can... be reborn..?” Another violent coughing spell causing the small skeleton to breath shallow and rapid.
“I don’t see why not..” The taller skeleton barely whispered in an attempt to keep his voice from cracking.
Dream smiled weakly fresh tears staining his cheeks. “I think.. we can be.. I would hope to be reborn.. so we could meet again.. maybe then..” Dream drew in a shaky breath. It was becoming increasingly difficult to breathe. He felt so tired and all he wanted to do was sleep. “I could.. tell you.. the things I couldn’t now..”
By now his legs had vanished Cross bawled knowing the inevitable fate of his beloved. “Dream..” The guard gently took the prince’s hand up bringing it up to his mouth. He placed a gentle kiss on the outside of the delicate hand. “I love you.. I’ll follow you to the ends of the earth..”
Dream’s sockets went dark. How could fate be so cruel to him. He began bawling he too reciprocated the others feelings. Yet, he didn’t have the nerve to tell the sobbing skeleton in front of him. He couldn’t cause the other more suffering.
“Cross.. promise me... promise me you won’t follow me... try to live.. “ The prince could feel his shortening lifespan decrease each second.
“You know I can’t-“
“Please!.. please.. try...” The smaller skeleton pleaded. Urgency audible in his hoarse voice.
With a pained expression Cross closed his eyes pulling what was left of Dream into a tight embrace. “I.. I’ll try...”
“Thank you... we’ll meet again.. Cross... I promise...”
After those last few words Dream faded into dust leaving only the clothing and the prince’s crown behind. Grasping at the air Cross cursed at the sky. He clenched the clothing and headpiece agonizing over his love’s death.
Cross wept until he couldn’t produce anymore tears. He gently folded the clothes and placed the headpiece on top. He felt numb nothing mattered anymore his sole purpose for existing had now vanished. However those last few words Dream said rang inside his head. “This is why I hate making promises.”
~~~
On the other side of the castle another royal guard along with the second prince attempted to escape. Chaos plagued the castle as greedy noblemen tried to overthrow the twin princes. It had become difficult to trust anyone inside these walls. Fortunately Nightmare knew he could trust his loyal guard, Killer.
“We have to get you out of here..” the guard huffed.
“What about, Dream?” The prince asked gasping for breath.
“Cross will find him! My priority is getting you out safely! You must survive, your majesty!”
Nightmare clenched at his chest. Something from wrong.. he felt that he’d lost something important but he didn’t know what. He wished that his brother was safe.
They’d managed to escape the castle using a secret escape route. Unfortunately they were met with enemy soldiers.
“You fools! This is treason!” Killer cursed at the guards. He pulled out his sword prepared to lay down his life for the prince.
“Hah, it can’t be treason if the prince dies!”
“Curse you..” Killer shielded Nightmare with his body a bead of sweat dripping on the side of his skull. “Your highness.. Nightmare.. as soon I charge I want you to run away... try to find Cross.. hopefully he found your brother and you can escape safely.”
“No I can’t leave you, Killer!!” The small prince grasped the other desperately. He felt if he let go he’d definitely never see him again.
At that moment several soldiers lunged forward most of their attacks aimed at the prince.
“Damn it.. Nightmare run!” Killer charged at the soldiers managing to injure a multitude of them. However, clearly outnumbered he was pinned to the ground with a foot on his back. He gasped for air as they slammed their foot onto his back keeping him from breathing properly.
“Don’t hurt him!” Nightmare lunged forward to aide his beaten guard. However, before he reached Killer he was shoved to the ground.
“Nightmare!!!” Killer cried desperately powerless to save the person in front of him.
“Tsk, Kill him already!”
Killer’s eyes widened horrified at the scene he witnessed. Nightmare who was struggling on the ground had been stabbed through in the back piercing his soul.
Nightmare let out a blood curdling scream. He gasped for air as he desperately clung to the last few minutes of life. He glanced at Killer giving an apologetic smile “I’m sorry...”
“Why are you sorry! I should..” tears swelled up in his sockets. “I should apologize! I failed you!!”
“Awe isn’t this sweet? You can watch your lover vanish before your very eyes!”
What a cruel joke life had played for them. All the twins wanted was to have a normal life. They wished to confess their feelings to their loved ones in hopes their feelings reciprocated.
Nightmare began to dust away continuing to smile at the skeleton in front of him. “I..” Nightmare croaked his voice soft and weak, tears burning at the edge of his sockets. “I really wanted... to.. tell you something...”
The guards vision became blurry as the tears impaired his vision. “What is it.. tell me, Nightmare..”
Shaking his head Nightmare drew a shaky breath while smiling weakly. “No.. that would be too cruel..” Over half his body had dusted at this point.
“How sweet of you two. Well there’s no point in sticking around the prince will die inevitably.” The soldier snickered as he motioned for the rest to follow him.
Killer crawled over to Nightmare. He was audibly sobbing. It couldn’t be real could it? How could he have failed so miserably at protecting someone.
“We’ll see.. each other again someday, Killer.. don’t worry...” the prince quietly sobbed as he felt death approaching. “If I’m reborn.. I hope.. we’re reborn together..”
Killer couldn’t respond as the lump in his throat grew. He cursed at himself for the tears that wouldn’t stop flowing.
“Killer... you... made me extremely happy.. don’t.. blame yourself...” The prince gently cupped the others cheek giving one final smile before he completely dusted away.
Killer clutched at the vanishing hand tears flooding his vision when it escaped from his grasp. Nightmare didn’t deserve to die that tragic death. He’d done nothing wrong. All because some noblemen wanted more power and money.
“Finally he’s dead.” A soldier sneered approaching the devastated guard.
Those words caused something to snap inside of Killer. In an instance he rose from the ground and dusted the soldier in front of him. His eyes were void of emotion, he only had one goal in mind. Avenge the love of his life, Nightmare.

So I have to say this chapter hurt to write. I know I said the first week of October but it’s basically here! So there’s a reason Cross’ and Killer’s names are crossed out. I hope it makes sense later in the story. Anyway thanks for being patient!! I really hope you guys like this chapter.
Cross belongs to @jakei95
Killer belongs to @rahafwabas
Dream and Nightmare belong to @jokublog
Sharing with @zu-is-here because I did get inspiration from their page! It’s sorta based on the idea that someone mentioned how a soul could be reborn after a certain amount of time!
New chapter! Oh yesyesyeyes; Killer and Cross “recognized” the twins! It’s just I feel like they know who they are! And that only makes me feel sad for them Super F; Nightmare socializing pfff I JUST CANT! He likes playing hard to get. Psdt: I loved the chapter
Haha well yes it does appear that Killer and Cross recognized the twins. But that will further be revealed in other chapters! (´∀`*)
Hehe well whether he likes it or not poor Nightmare struggles socializing with others. It’s not an ability Nightmare was naturally born with, but that’s why he has Dream! If it wasn’t for Dream, Nightmare would for sure be locked away in the library or inside his dorm!
Thank you so much it makes me happy knowing you all like my work! (//∇//)
