He sells what he finds to a black market exchange within the seedy underbelly of New Manhattan, a climate-shielded 'bubble' city in which tens of millions of survivors now reside, in order to pay down his debt to one wealthy and conniving underworld magnate named TYCHO MORELLO, the head of the powerful Genovese Exchange. He is poor, a member of the lowest rung of the social order within this brave new world, and has lived a life of deprivation and dashed hopes for all of his nearly five full decades of life. But then, while on a scavenging run outside the New City late one night in the midst of a Megastorm, August comes across a find of rare and wondrous possibility: a decades-old 'NuLife' Bodymod 'Bio-Augment,' the sort of once-experimental DNA-re-writing and AI-fueled body-altering nano-technology that could completely transform a person into somebody new--anybody whom that person wanted to be. Older, younger, taller, shorter, fitter, stronger, more handsome--whatever one desires. Initially intending to sell the Bodymods device on consignment to the black market exchange to which he is under contract (in repayment of his debt), August suddenly has a change of heart. Driven by thoughts of a gorgeous and enchanting, inky-blue-black-haired female nightclub singer and lounge hostess whom he has long harbored a secret passion for, the experienced scavenger decides to hold onto the remarkable bit of body-altering technology which he has recovered and to use it on himself, hoping to transform himself into the sort of tall and strong, far 'younger'-looking and more ruggedly-handsome version of himself that he imagines will be able to seduce the lovely MINA away from her dastardly devious employer/lover, Tycho Morello. Unfortunately, after programming the AI Interface for the device and attaching it to the back of his neck later on that evening before dropping off to sleep, August wakes up on the following morning to discover that things have NOT AT ALL gone according to plan. . . Roughly 32,000 words in length, Bodymods (Part One)is the first installment in a sexy new on-going serial story about Slow, Gradual Unintended Gender Transformation, Feminization, and Titillating Self-Discovery via Experimental Futuristic AI Body-Altering Technologies. Readers should be advised that the main character's transformation into a woman merely begins in this installment and will not be completed until later in the series.
