This is my opinion as a Transformers fan, & I’m sticking with it.
A bit of a random thing I wanted to share but thanks to Transformers Galactic Trials, we technically have access to some of the official Evergreen models.
I discovered the Evergreen style guide a while back, and noticed that the models used in Galactic Trials actually look identical to them.
Though do keep in mind the style guide has it in a perspective camera view, and my Blender screenshot has it in orthographic view. The rest pose is also different but that's just how the model is.
But, if I set the render pass in Cycles to "Ambient Occlusion", and adjust the rest pose to better match that of the style guide's, it's practically identical.
So basically, in a similar vein to Purple Lamp using the Sponge Out of Water models for SpongeBob BFBB Rehydrated/Cosmic Shake, the developers of Transformers GT (3D Clouds) basically just used the style guide's models, albeit optimized for use in-game.
Some of the more detailed parts only exist in the normal maps, for example, while the style guide models have them built-in.
If they ever Repaint this Cheap-Ass Starscream Toy into Thundercracker, I might get him
(They did not even Bother to Transform Starscream's leg Correctly, LMAO)
