My friend has a Kickstarter going on right now for his comic that's about a 12 year detective and her dog (imagine Scooby Doo and Nancy Drew).  He’s met a lot of backlash from comic stores and because for having a trans girl main character for a children’s book. Frankly, I think stories like this need to exist because there’s not nearly enough representation for LGBT characters for kids and adults to connect with.  Shawn Harbin is trying to change that, and he’s just $1,000 away from his Kickstarter goal which ends this Thursday .  Please consider pledging or passing the information along.
