Okay, some quick takes on building an inclusive museum membership program.
Allowing easy name and title changes on memberships is one the simplest things museums can do to be more inclusive.
Nina and I are holders Member Plus cards at the Art Institute of Chicago because they are one of the few institutions that have a membership option that works well for a polyam family, allowing four adults to visit as long as one named card holder is present. Having membership options that work for households with more than two adults isn't just about polyamory. Many families do not fit the very white idea of what a nuclear family looks like. We choose to renew with the Art Institute because we can go there as a polycule AND we can also go there with our whole family.
(Pardon the Warhol, we need to wait a month before conveniently loosing our cards.)
