My transit app finally has a name!
I have decide to call it âJoyrideâ. đđ
I had fun doing some quick branding work and I will be spending the weekend on a presentation of my process so far.

CoGo is on Transit App!
Are you a Casual Rider?Â
Here is step by step guide to buy CoGo day passes on Transit App.Â
Creating a Transit App-CoGo Account:
DOWNLOAD TRANSIT APP! (Available in the Apple Store and on Google Play)
Make sure the CoGo layer is selected under the settings/options button. When enabled, it should have a green checkmark signifying it is active
On the main map, select your desired start station for your trip
The stationâs information bubble with the station name and its number of bikes and docks will appear
Click on the station information bubble, and select âPurchase Access Passâ
Select the access pass youâd like to purchase
âCreate An Accountâ and fill out the form
âEnter Payment Informationâ
Review your purchase information. This window will display the pass you selected, the price and a shortened Terms and Conditions.
You are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions by selecting, âPlace Orderâ
A new window will appear with the confirmation of the purchase. The signup process was completed with success!
-> If you want to request a code later, you may click on âNo, Iâll Ride Laterâ and you will return to the main map.
-> If you want to request a ride code now, click on âYes, Unlock Nowâ. See next steps for more information.
If you clicked âYes, Unlock Nowâ, the window will display the ride code and its expiration countdown. Ride codes will remain active for 5 minutes, then a new code will be generated
Use this ride code to unlock the bike on the specified station. You may consult the âHow Do I Unlock a Bike?â button if needed.
Once done, click on âIâm Ready to Ride!â to return to the main map
ANNUAL MEMBERS! Transit App is not just for Casual Riders. Log in with your CoGo account info. In case you forget your fob, you can generate a release code in the app

Une petite histoire intéressante pour TransitApp
Lors de la confĂ©rence annuelle âCommuter Transportationâ Ă Baltimore, Chris Whong, un cartographe âdroguĂ©â de donnĂ©es, a racontĂ© une histoire intĂ©ressante.
Tout a commencé avec un post facebook de Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) :
"... Il coĂ»terait environ 600 000 $ de plus pour ĂȘtre en mesure de formater les donnĂ©es de notre vieil SAEIV au format GTFS-RT pour une utilisation par des dĂ©veloppeurs extĂ©rieurs."
Mais en allant sur le site Bus Tracker, il a dĂ©couvert un autre problĂšme : l'interface utilisateur Ă©tait mauvaise, trĂšs mauvaise. Et l'entreprise qui l'a construit, Trapeze, a non seulement rĂ©alisĂ© ce systĂšme pour Baltimore, mais pour plusieurs autres villes - tous aussi mauvais! Ătant basĂ©e Baltimore, il a dĂ©cidĂ© de crĂ©er une meilleure interface de suivi par reverse ingĂ©nierie du systĂšme existant. Il a trouvĂ© le code JavaScript et puis exĂ©cutĂ© un POST pour voir ce que le code rĂ©pondait. Une fois qu'il avait le code de base de la MTA, il a ensuite ajoutĂ© les donnĂ©es nĂ©cessaires au format GTFS. Ensuite, il a ajoutĂ© un JSON supplĂ©mentaire par vĂ©hicules et intĂ©grĂ© le tout dans un Leaflet. Le projet de Whong attirĂ© l'attention de TransitApp, qui a voulu utiliser son API dans leur application de bus de suivi pour Baltimore. Le succĂšs du projet a Ă©tĂ© annoncĂ© comme sauver "Baltimore 600.000 $ en une journĂ©e."

Faites attention aux avenants proposĂ©s par vos fournisseurs de SAEIV qui peuvent ĂȘtre excessifs
Faites attention aux interfaces utilisateurs (web et mobile), mĂȘme pour un SAEIV (elles sont trop souvent nĂ©gligĂ©es et pourtant trĂšs attendues par les utilisateurs)
Et enfin, des partenariats locaux avec des indĂ©pendants peuvent vous dĂ©nouer des situations qui vous paraissent inextricables parce que souvent leur rĂ©solution nâintĂ©resse pas les sociĂ©tĂ©s et que vous ne pouvez pas faire un appel dâoffres âjâai un problĂšme, aidez-moiâ.
