I’ve been anxious about shaving my face completely since I get worried I don’t pass without facial hair (or that I’d look 10 years old). But today I tried it out, and I’m really happy that I can plainly see how obviously my face shape has changed on T. (For reference, here is a photo of me from July 2016, at 19 and a month before I went on T.)

Left is a photo of me from about a month ago, with the length I try to keep my beard around. I’ve had it like that for at least a year. Right is today, right after I shaved it completely. I like having a beard a lot, but I also like knowing that in the future, if I grow one, it will solely be because I like it, and not also because I’m uncomfortable with my face.

I was tagged by @lesbianjadzia to do my 9 selfies of 2017 and wow you can legit see my transition before your eyes (these are all in chronological order, first one is like 4.5 months on T and the last one is like two weeks ago).

My hair has been at least three colors this year, my skin cleared up, I learned how to get more flattering haircuts, I figured out both how to have facial hair and look like I take pride in my appearance. Oh yeah, and I got top surgery in between photos 5 and 6.

I’d tell myself to put my arm down but the fact that I can take selfies somewhat normally now is actually a big testament to how much happier transition has made me.

2017 was wild but a noticeable improvement on 2016. Hope the same thing happens in 2018. I tag anyone who wants to do this because I have to get up in 11 hours, but please tag me if you do it so I can see your lovely faces <3
