Life changes and ranting

So happy that two big life changes are syncing up so well. Started my FIRST full time job last Monday and I'm loving it and moving in with two of my best friends today. That start has never been fresher. SO happy to move because that apt reminds me of my weird in between period of graduating from school and job hunting , taking random unpaid internships , spending too much time at home and feeling generally anxious. Also that goddamn landlord. --begin rant-- Incident #7 (I haven't actually been keeping track but there have been at least 6 of these weird moments) For the sake of the story he lives next door: Last weekend my friend locked their bike in the courtyard after a party when it was flashflooding. He didn't lock it on the st bc my roommates tires got slashed there a few weeks ago so I don't trust the spot anymore. So my landlords dog somehow got hurt on the bike -- it's somehow the bikes fault. His exact words were "so there's a bike there and the dog didn't know and I heard a yelp and she hurt herself on this bike so it needs to be moved to where yours is. Do you know whose it is?... Oh so they don't even live here they're just storing it here ??! Well then it can get out of my courtyard!!!" this was all said in his classic tone that is equal parts condescending, patronizing and accusatory. Shake Well and you have my landlord Mr. ____ who you may not call by his first name since it is "not proper". Although I'm pretty sure my other older neighbors call him by his first name and that's how he introduced himself initially. Ps he's white. ANYGAY , when I locked it up I made sure that the bike wasn't in the way of any doorways or jutting out or anything. But of course it's a problem because he loves that dog more than anything in the world. So my friend has unintentionally left it there for a week today since it rained all that week. after my landlord scolded me (yes I mean scolded although that sort of power dynamic should never exist between landlord and tenant that is what it feels like ) I immediately text my friend but he's on the way to the allied media conference for the weekend- this was Thursday. I tell my landlord what's up and that he'll be back by Sunday but we're checking if there are spare lock keys. There aren't. Yesterday (two days after our initial convo) my landlord catches me leaving and brings it up again. And says "you know, I could get that bike out of there no problem..." so this weird vague threat to cut the lock??? Do you know how expensive they are??? It's been there for one week??? I told you when it's leaving??? --end rant-- Goodbye forever aggressive overbearing landlord. ..Well goodbye after the walk through which will probably be fucked. but my mom will be in town this week 💖 and I think he only respects people over the age of 30 so she can be my muscle. I promise this was intended to be a happy post but i needed to let that out. Hopefully it's the final incident and I will be done with him forever so soon.
