I found this blog cause someone added a post from it to the pillowfort fish community and I thought it looked super cool!!

Anywho have yall done the northern cave fish (aka amblyopsis spelaea)? Theyre super cool examples of animals adapting to living in cave ecosystems which is why theyre pale pink, a tad see-through, and have no eyes!

(Ty! It was about time for a translucent, blind, cave fish!)

Blind and translucent fish! They have no eyes but they can still detect light and swim away from it.

They live in underground caves filled with water!

Their metabolism is slow and can survive up to 2 years without food, they reproductive rate is also slow and they brood their eggs for 4-5 months in their gill cavity.

They navigate their surroundings using a combination of touch, smell and water vibrations.

When they die... do they run away from the light at the end of the tunnel? Does that make them immortal???

Anyways, TRANSLUCENT FISH!!!

Their shape reminds me of the olm, they share similar environments!

My daughter attends my alma mater, Oregon State University.  My most recent visit to OSU found me wandering past a building and a particularly disturbing memory popped into my head.  When I attended OSU, this building’s basement contained something you would expect to find at an esteemed institution of higher education — classrooms, faculty offices, and, of course, a “chamber of horrors.”
