Also it makes no sense for them to name their firstborn son after Mary's mom and their secondborn son after her dad. Like okay pretty funny to like your mom more so you want to name your kid after her. But then to also name a kid after your dad? Like if the second kid came out a girl would you have your son Dean named after your mom Deanna and your daughter Samantha named after your father Samuel? You could but it's WEIRD lol and does not fit with the traditional patriarchal USA USA USA white picket fence etc. that John and Mary have been shown to be so far.

It does make sense, however, if their firstborn was a girl and they named her Deanna. And then he grew up and realized he's a guy and changed it to Dean.

Just sayin.
