One Shot Review: Medley Edition Pt.3
Because there are a lot of one shot manga out there which are far shorter than one volume, let alone one chapter, I’ve decided to review a random medley of them. These will include Transparent Museum, Gendai Mahoutsukai no Okiniiri, and Kashi of Osaka.

Transparent Museum is about Asaki, a high school girl who wants to disappear after finding out her parents are getting a divorce. One day, she notices a large building that wasn’t there before. She goes inside, only to find an empty museum gallery. Is there more to this museum than what meets the eye?
Transparent Museum was a nice and quick read. I liked the overall message and the feeling of it was reminiscent of the mangaka’s better known work, The Ancient Magus' Bride. So if you like The Ancient Magus' Bride (as there are several parallels between the two works), then Transparent Museum is worth a read.

Gendai Mahoutsukai no Okiniiri (which roughly translates to “A Modern Witch's Pet”) is about Aiboshi Akari, a high school girl whose goal in life is to be a witch, despite her multiple failures at conjuring magic. But just when things are starting to look up for her, she might have unintentionally set herself on the path of execution. I thought Gendai Mahoutsukai no Okiniiri was a really cute and enjoyable one shot. It was nicely succinct with a few interesting and funny twists. It’s hard to say anything else without spoiling it so go check it out if you enjoy shoujo and witches.

Kashi of Osaka is about Miya, a girl who goes to Osaka, Japan to attend pastry school and achieve her dream of becoming a pastry chef. When she moves into her dorm, she finds a mysterious cat waiting for her. Despite the fact that pets are forbidden, Miya decides to care for the cat and take responsibility for all that comes with it.
Kashi of Osaka was a quick and really cute read. It definitely encapsulated the feeling of when one leaves home for the first time to pursue their dreams, as well as the sense of loneliness that comes with it. I also really enjoyed the watercolor-style of this manhua. Definitely check this one out if you can relate or just love cats.
Thank you for taking the time to read this review! I hope you will check out Alice in Mangaland for more manga reviews in the future! Arigato gozaimasu! Thank you!
