General societal anxieties associated with werewolves often also projected onto trans people:
- seen as duplicitous and predatory
- general association with "wolf in sheep's clothing"
- blur the lines between categories
- represent fear of the outsider
- hiding in plain sight
Voluntary werewolves as representations of societal anxieties against trans people:
- radical transformation of the body
- obvious association with transition
- giving in to "base urges"
- not "just being feminine men" like terfs would want
- infection of others around them
- trans people tend to find each other without always knowing
- knowing a trans person can help realize your own transness
Involuntary werewolves as representations of anxieties of trans people:
- body is transformed against their wishes
- especially in a way that is larger and usually hairier than desired body
- seen as inherently predatory by others
- sympathetic for implied disdain for dangerous form
- behaving differently in the "monstrous" form
- when pretending to be cis many trans people act differently
-can be involuntary as a manner of self preservation
