"mere mortals we leave": the farewell show of a perennial daydream

Slow Trek by \\livingfossil// is the 1st of 5 video pieces recorded on January 26th, 2019 at The Tranzac's Southern Cross Lounge in Toronto, Canada as part of \\livingfossil//'s "Glitch Project (Beta)" series of compositions.  

Inspired by the video works of Nicole Lizée and Brian Eno, this piece is intended to remix moving images that we know and love with guided ambient improvisations by the members of \\livingfossil//.  An electroacoustic tape part accompanies the video and live visual effects are applied to the Slow Trek video during the improvisation.

This video features Gordon Hyland on Saxophone +FX, Andrew Roorda on Electric Bass, and Neil Whitford on Electric Guitar.  Slow Trek video concept and sound design created by Gordon Hyland.  Live Video FX and Projection by Vivienne Wilder.

NOTE: The footage from Star Trek The Next Generation "Best of Both World's Part I" is used in the spirit of "fair use," as it builds on the original work and is not intended for monetization.  The members of living fossil will not monetize this video and acknowledge that we do not own the footage from Star Trek The Next Generation.
