So, now that I'm back to writing, I though I would make a post to gather and share all my Tomb Raider fanfics both in Spanish and English versions, in case anyone asks. :)
All my fanfics are TRAOD sequels - just one timeline and universe, focused on Lara and Kurtis' (Lartis) relationship throughout the years - and you can read them in this order. I'll put the main ones that can't be missed in capitals:
1. The Good In Him: One-shot focused on Lara and Werner’s feud after Egypt and right before the events of TRAOD. Old, basic, but still cute at some point.
2. The Louvre Affair: First one-shot I ever wrote, only vestige of a TRAOD novelization I never got to write. Describes the Louvre sequence from Lara’s POV. Very basic, still fond of it.
3. THE GOLDEN SEAL: My first TRAOD sequel. The story about the immediate events after the Strahov. 29 chapters. Slow-burn, sexual tension.
4. LILITH'S SCEPTER: Post-The Golden Seal events. Rated Mature (triggers: sex, violence, strong language, rape/non-con, gore, death of major characters). 51 chapters. The longest so far, a wild ride.
5. Daughter: Christmas one-shot after the events of Lilith's Scepter. Focused also on Lara and Werner's feud, but providing closure.
8. A Stack Of Photos: One-shot post-Lilith’s Scepter events. Rated Mature. Violence.
9. THE AWAKENING: Mini fanfic (6 chapters). Introducing an important semi-OC who exists since Lilith’s Scepter and was part of Core Design’s headcanon to the sequels of TRAOD.
10. THE LEGACY: Ongoing fanfic (30 chapters by now). Post-The Awakening events. Rated mature. Graphic violence. Death of a Major Character. Updated 28/6/2025.
I hope you enjoy my universe, and I’d like very much to hear from your feedback. Don’t be shy to post a review and thank you in advance!! :))
You can find me in FF.net, AO3 and Wattpad.

Eventos posteriores a El Despertar. Clasificación para adultos. Violencia. Muerte de un personaje principal. Actualizado 28/6/2025.
Espero que disfrutéis de mi universo y me encantaría conocer vuestros comentarios. No dudes en publicar una reseña y gracias de antemano!! :))
Puedes encontrarme en FF.net y Wattpad. En AO3 sólo he subido versiones en inglés.

After years of struggle, I've finally managed to update this fic. At first I wanted to get it done in the fever of the release of TRAOD remaster last February, but neither work nor family allowed me to do more than write little fragments in the scarce moments I had of calm and that if it was the case of me being inspired and not exhausted.
Then I wanted it to release for Kurtis' birthday, but alas, I failed. So there it is, two days later. Originally it was meant to be a single long chapter but it was taking too much time, so I decided to split it in two. I hope to update then again soon, because the second half is partially written by now.
I beg forgiveness from those who had been expecting this update for years. Considering it was a real struggle to get this done for personal reasons, it would be nice if you judged me kindly. Comments and feedback are always welcome, of course.
Hello Ana, I hope you’re having a wonderful day/evening/ night. I just finished LS and a question came in my mind, not a plot one, more like a planning/ production one. Your fanfics have both Spanish and English versions, and for what I seen Spanish it’s the original one. How was the choice and the process of translating it? Bc I saw the physical version of LS and holy shit is thick as hell!
Also as a writer I’ve reach a dead point where I don’t know what to do. I feel my writing in Spanish it’s more well developed but if I write it in English it would reach more people.
Sorry maybe it’s a dumbass question but I really wonder what you thought at the moment of writing.
Love ya, Alice. <3
Hi Alice! Thank you so much for reading Lilith's Scepter! It's not a minor feat considering it's the longest fanfic I've written so far and the plot... thickens. Boy it thickens. ;)
And yes, it shows when you see the physical copy. I don't want to let the chance pass without showing again it because it was something the wonderful @hydraballista made for me and I think her design skills are to be on the spotlight.
Now onto what you ask, which is anything but dumb since I went through the same. Yes, the Spanish are the original versions of every TR fanfic I've written. Even though it's not my mother language - this being Catalan/Valencian - Spanish is the language I am best at writing, and in the beginning, all these fanfics existed only in the Spanish version.
But soon I met the same dilemma you describe. It's not big news anymore I had a hard time in the Spanish fandom, from where I was expelled, and then I considered translating the fics to English so it could reach more readers - because I was left with no space to share them anymore with Spanish readers.
As it turns out, it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. Thanks to this huge, personal task I've reached people that would have never read my fics if I didn't translate them myself, because they don't know Spanish.
My first versions weren't good at all since I struggled with English, but time, patience, more studying and reading in English and overall, interacting in the international fandom, helped me to improve my translation. That and the valuable skills of two beta-readers who helped me through it, though it's been a while now since I am doing it on my own. I think it's not perfect yet but overall readable and it doesn't bother readers that much.
What I do basically is to take the Spanish version but adapt it to how stuff would be said in English, specially concerning characterization. It's not a mere translation done in Google, but I also try to keep the original spirit, so it doesn't deviate that much. That has gotten me some mixed reviews, having "floral language" or "elaborated structures" or "particular word usage" but truth be told, Spanish is more rich and complex in some aspects than English.
I did that with all my 10 fanfics and it took me years of translating, correcting, adapting... all by myself except the times I was beta-read. But to this day, I don't write directly in English, because I am stronger in Spanish. I still write everything in Spanish and then translate - meaning it takes me twice to update, but it's worth it. Now, the tide has turn, I've barely Spanish readers anymore and the most interactions I got are from the international fandom. I still write and publish in Spanish because I'm sure someone will appreciate it. Also if some old Spanish fans want to reach me through them, though I cannot reach them anymore due to my permaban.
My advice is, if you feel stronger writing in Spanish, then do it and translate as I did - but it's not short, and it's not easy. It's a process of learning. But definitely don't renounce to write in your original language if you're stronger with it. I'd place quality over reach and once I've a clear idea of where I stand, then start with the translation.
And do it little by little. Chapter by chapter. Then ask for a beta-reader to check out the final version, if you can.
Some more love for the cover by @hydraballista - those who had read it would, maybe, catch the horrifying meaning :)
