honestly i think we should be giving shaofei a medal for not dropping dead right then and there

me @ me: remember how misleading the teaser for episodes 11 and 12 was? and remember how many of your assumptions and predictions turned out to be wrong?  

also me: right yes definitely i hear you and i do remember that but THIS time the teaser is completely straightforward and i definitely understand everything that is happening!!

ohhh shit guys spicy gnocchi with sausage, the one dish tang yi ordered on his first half-date with shaofei, is the dish sir tang made for him on his birthday!!! AND ALSO now we know that the way he eats spicy food (i.e., trying to dull the sensation somewhat so he doesn’t choke) is because of sir tang, so the fact that he has started adapting to shaofei’s methods (i.e., drinking coke to heighten the sensation) is a huge fucking deal!!

first we had the rib = skeleton keychain connection, and now this. these flashbacks are really adding some nice little dimensions to the story

so now we know that the nakedly emotional look on tang yi’s face in the teaser when shaofei says he wants to spend every one of tang yi’s birthdays by his side is because sir tang said something very similar to him as a child and shaofei has no idea how much it would mean to him to hear someone say that to him again

though i’ve been mostly avoiding my dash all day so as not to see too many spoilers, i saw enough to know that when i do finally check it, it should just be every single one of @stebeee‘s birthday gifsets one after the other over and over. otherwise what are we all even doing here??
