i agree with everyone who’s saying that the breakdown didn’t feel like the right place for a sex scene, and i’m glad we didn’t see them having sex under those conditions, but i do actually think it’s implied that they did have sex and it was just offscreen. maybe it’s just me, but i almost always interpret a scene of a couple in bed with their shirts off as post-coital. and when tang yi said “i’m sorry” i immediately thought he was referring to the fact that they’d just had sex that was probably at the very least confusing and fraught. but i’d really rather believe that they just cried some more and went to bed so idk man
