did you ever watch the ROD series? I think I might have liked it even more than the OVA

It was ages ago but I still viscerally remember that scene from those original chapters of Vigil's Keep where Cinder gets her throat clawed open but just... instantly heals it. The sudden graphic violence was always such a tonal shock and the way you described it really stuck with me. Also the joke about Ruby not noticing that Yang is a werewolf because she can't even keep track of her own period, much less the moon, is still hilarious
found myself thinking about Vigils Keep and thought of a good writing music recommendation for it (if you're still working on it; I remember you mentioned you had other novel concepts you were considering as well). Please consider looking up Murder Ballades by Bryce Dessner, played by Eighth Blackbird. It's a series of arrangements on old folk songs about murder, and they're super dark and kind of rustic but also beautiful, just like Vigil's Keep!

They’re placeholder names for now! Just so that I can start mentally divorcing them from the source material and make it easier for me to turn them into what I need them to be.

Shipwise I’m leaning heavily towards Ladybug and Freezerburn as always. And of course Cinder/Glynda is the main ship as they accidentally adopt four puppy werewolves together.
