Emergency Post: The Heart of the Crystal Gems Trailer is Trash

I know it’s just a trailer but I do not like what I’m seeing. 

So instead of focusing on what’s actually important:

Amethyst: Rose Quartz - is actually Pink Diamond?!

Sapphire: She lied to us!

They’re gonna focus most of the drama on a BREAKUP ARC?! 

And these lines are so abhorrently out of character, I now have no doubts anymore that there is no communication between the writers on Steven Universe. 

Ruby: We couldn’t have known!

Sapphire: No, you couldn’t have known. You never know what’s going on!

Hold the phone. Now give the phone to me. Sapphire is criticizing Ruby for what she doesn’t know? What happened to the Sapphire who always scolded Ruby for calling herself stupid? 

And this is a stupid role reversal yet AGAIN, but for no reason. In Keeping it Together, when their components were talking about the gem mutants, this was the exchange: 

Ruby: So this is what Homeworld thinks of fusion!

Sapphire: We couldn’t have known they would do this!

And this, this right here is just a betrayal on every level you can imagine and even those you can’t: 

Ruby: I’ve seen my future and it’s nothin’ but Ruby!

So all of this:

means nothing. They’ve literally been a fusion of love for thousands of years. 

Ruby nearly lost her mind when she was separated from Sapphire on the ship in Jail Break. She yelled at the top of her lungs to find her, worried only about her welfare while completely ignoring her own!

Now we’re led to believe that she “can do bad all by her damn self”?
