We have eight billion of them come into my job because there’s BSL but it’s literally only APBT/AmBully/AmStaff/Staffy/mix targeted so instead of having “””pit bulls””” we just have a bunch of corsos, presas, and mixes of the two. And sometimes a bbm slips through the cracks, and a coworker somehow got her hands on a rehomed dog that looks like she might be pure APBT.

I have not been impressed by the majority that come in because they are mostly all hideous, very poorly structured, completely untrained, and dog aggressive while being owned by people who either cannot hold them back or will not hold them back when they start shit with another dog or with a person. As a result, I typically hide with Creed when a corso comes in because he’s been charged and put on the floor by enough of them that I’m not really willing to take the chance anymore.

I’ve spoken to @molosseraptor about this problem a couple times and she’s informed me that my area is full of really shitty corso breeders churning out deformed corsos with awful temperaments for people who want a macho tough dog but can’t get their hands on an ugly deformed “””pit bull””” with shitty temperament and so they get the next best thing.

It may seem like I’m being overly critical of the breed- I’m overly critical of the owners and the examples I’ve seen in my store, and I’ve only met a small handful of actually decent ones (most of those are involved in one of the bitework clubs in the area), but I feel much the same way about the legions of GSDs that come into the store and I actually like GSDs.

@molosseraptor has been attempting to convince me to get a corso for my next service dog and she is doing her damnedest but I will not yield! I’ve decided on my breed but would love to meet her dogs and squish Marius’ big head if I ever travel out her way. It’d be nice to meet some actually correct corsos for once.

Service Dogs by Warren Retrievers are a scam company. They charge up to like $25,000 for what are basically untrained puppies. They recently featured on an episode of Dr. Phil, but I had heard of them being a scam long before it.
