Headcanon question- what's the first movie everyone picked for movie night when it was their turn?
Officially, movie night started as part of âletâs show Steve what he missedâ but with more fumbling awkwardness of people who do not make friends easily.  Which meant that for the most part, they avoided war movies, depressing movies, and anything with Nazis.
Bruce accidentally created movie night, with âThe Princess Bride.â
Darcy and Jane (mostly Darcy) had shown Thor âFour Weddings and a Funeral.â  He loved it, and wanted to show it to everyone else. Only Tony fought him on it.  Tony lost.
Tony wanted to show the original Star Trek tv show. Â He was voted down (âItâs not a movie, Starkâ), and went with Star Wars instead, because well, it was going to happen eventually, he might as well show the RIGHT version.
Steve had seen âThe Maltese Falcon,â but Natasha hadnât. Â She thought it only polite to take him up on his recommendation.
Clint did not get the âno goddamn NAZISâ memo, and cued up âRaiders of the Lost Arkâ before Natasha could get him in a sleeper hold.  Steve said it was fine, even though he seemed to recognize the warehouse at the end.  No one asked any more questions.
Coulson went with âThe Rocketeer,â a throwback to the serials that Steve wouldâve known.  Tony was banned from making a rocket pack.  He made one anyway.
Steve himself asked for Charlie Chaplinâs âModern Times.â  It lead to a Chaplin retrospective, and from there, to Buster Keaton and the Marx Brothers.
And after that, it had become a habit.
