We enjoyed our boondocking site right along the river, a few miles east of Pagosa. Our first evening in town we went to Pagosa Springs and walked the trail around the San Juan River area and had dinner. The next day we took the Jeep up the moderately difficult Elwood pass over the Continental Divide and then down into South Fork Colorado for lunch. From there we took Highway 160 over Wolf Creek Pass then stopped for a short but steep hike up to Treasure Falls. Going up over Elwood Pass we saw several mule deer, marmots, and the usual chipmunks and birds.
