The Prose household was filled with children. Vitrail was very happy to know that her family was all happy and healthy even if they couldn’t have nice meals nor did they have enough space for the children to not be packed into their rooms but they were content.
Luckily, Ode and Luna were not caught and life continued as normal with a busy household and visits from the children from the children’s home.
It wasn’t long before the younger twins became toddlers. Sonnet had Gem’s hair and Matcha Swirl’s eyes while Cinquain had Vitrail’s coloring except for the red eyes he picked up from Gem. Vitrail was happy to have such a colorful household.
It wasn’t long before Limerick and Ode were big enough to play on their own and learn to be a bit more independent. Limerick grew up with his mother’s hair color but his father’s everything else in terms of coloring. While Ode had his father’s hair and Matcha Swirl’s eye color. The adults of the Prose family all doted on the boys and were eager to meet the new little one or little ones though Treble and Vitrail hoped for a little girl.
Not long after Sestina’s birth, war was declared. After talking it over, Treble decided to sign up and go fight in hopes that his contribution will make the war shorter so that the boys will not have to fight. Vitrail was not happy with the idea of him putting himself in danger but realized that he was right and neither of them wanted the war to last long enough for their sons to fight in it.
Vitrail gave birth to a second daughter named Sestina which she hoped would not be as prone to roughhousing as her brothers and sister especially since Vitrail was much older than she was with the others.
The older boys liked to roughhouse often when they were at home though Vitrail figured that that was bound to happen with kids anyways. The younger twins liked to roam around town usually at the library though. While Treble was closest to Sonnet out of all the kids, Limerick and Vitrail grew closer since he was interested in his new baby sibling. Given how enthusiastic he was about the future baby, Vitrail wondered if she should be on the look out for future grandchildren yet though she didn’t speak her thoughts aloud.
Luna frequently visited the Prose household and was proud to show off some color in her outfit that she would never be allowed to wear at her home. Ode was overjoyed to see her clothes with just a hint of pink like himself. Though Vitrail and Treble agreed that Luna was a sweet girl, they worried about the backlash if the relationship she had with their son became public.
