I think Tree Adams might have been influenced by the ethnic music of that region for the anthem that he wrote.

I found an interview about his scores that season, and he said he wanted the feel of the exotic for the grounder music and he said he used instruments from all sorts of cultures all over the world, and he seems to have a VERY deep base of knowledge on cultural sounds and instruments, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew of those haunting melodies and incorporated them into the grounder song.
