I want to show you the progress of my newest project. This will be my costume for Carnival. Something not so expensive and easy to clean after one week of Party.
Because I didn’t wanted to spend to much time for making an own pattern I used simplicity pattern 1093. I made good experiences with simplicity pattern but this one was very bad! After measuring myself the pattern said I was size 44 normally my clothes are 38. I was very confused but sewed the costume in size 40. And it was to tall... The top was way to big and not shaped at all. The skirt is a little to short and was way to wide. I made it tighter but I’m going to add a elastic band to the cuff. The arm parts fit well in the smallest size :D and the corset fits too.
I still have to iron the costume 🙈
My next step is to make the wings. I made a pattern inspired by Tinkerbells wings and bought the materials.
I will use wire and organza for the wings and for the lines glitter glue.
The green one of the glitter glues illuminates under UV light. I’m going to a techno party on saturday and am excited how my wings will look there :D.
Maybe I will add some colours to the corset and gauntlets that shine under UV light, too.
