We went shopping Monday for a neat little tree to fill part of the empty space left by that big, messy cottonwood.

The best we could do was 4-foot-high Fraser fir (for $50) and since we already have a bunch of Frasers in our Christmas tree plantation we decided to just transplant one of those and hope for the best.

Considering how much work it took to dig up the tree in a way that preserved as much of the root ball as possible, I think i might have been better off spending the 50 bucks.

It’s so much easier to cut them down for Christmas trees.
