TOH II
Intro:
Like in the first TOH, the episode starts off with Marge warning the viewers to turn off the tv for the younger children. She says that bad words may even be mentioned and that this TOH is even worse than the last one
First segment:
We see the simpsons family coming home from trick or treating and the children had collected a lot of candy. Marge warns them not to eat too much candy since they may get nightmares if they do. They all just laugh about it and end up eating too much anyways.
That night, they all go to sleep and the episode shifts into the first nightmare:
Lisa’s nightmare.
In this one, the simpsons buy a talking monkey’s paw that can grant wishes.
Homer uses it to wish for money, but the wishes always come true in a twisted way. The family gets rich, but loses their happiness. Homer wishes for Flanders to lose his job, but this causes the entire town’s economy to collapse. Every wish makes things worse instead of better. It goes so far that they accidentally lure aliens to earth and the aliens try to make mankind their slaves.
Yet when flanders gets his hands on the pawn, he ends up saving the entire world from the aliens. Flanders lives happy and rich and the simpsons return to their normal life, poor but safe.
Second segment:
Lisa quietly slips into barts room to ask him if she can sleep in his room because she is scared. He tells hers he can but she needs to be quiet and sleep.
Then we jump into bart‘s nightmare:
Bart dreams that he is an mind-reading monster. The whole town lives in fear of bart. At first, Bart uses these powers to get whatever he wants and to scare the adults. He forces skinner to sing for him, gets otto to let him drive the school-bus and even poor snowball ii gets changed up completely.
Until he transforms his dad into a object and Marge finally had enough and got him a therapist. The therapist tells homer to spend time with bart in order to give him the attention he craves. He goes to the fair with him, the baseball game and tucks him into bed. Then bart transforms him back into a human.
Third segment:
They both jump into their parents‘ beds and ask to sleep there. Homer allows them.
We then jump into Homer‘s dream:
He dreams that he gets a job on the graveyard where he falls asleep only to be mistaken for a corpse by mr burns whose in search of a brain to use for his „electrical worker“ who wont get lazy.
But he overestimated homer since Homer still continued being a donut eating, lazy worker even as a robot. Mr burns ends up putting the brain back into Homer‘s body and dies when the empty robot body fell on him. We see mr burns asking smithers to get medical equipment (to amputate his head onto homer‘s body to survive).
Homer wakes up and goes to work unaware of mr. Burns‘ head attached to his shoulder.
The episode ends with it being unclear if homer was dreaming or not. Maybe he was just dreaming and he actually woke up without mr burns‘ head attached to his body or he wasnt dreaming and they found a solution off-screen to keep mr burns alive without having him on homer‘s body.
Canon:
Not a single sequence in the episode seems to be clearly canon.
Unsure:
The last sequence is unclear whether its canon or not since we dont know what happened after the episode ended.
Not canon:
The first two segments are pretty clearly not canon and just dreams of bart and lisa.
Connection to gravity falls:
Bart‘s mind reading abilities remind me a awful lot of a certain someone.
Yep, we all know that Bill can read minds and turn people into objects whenever he pleases. Weirdly interesting that bart dreamt of that, maybe bill was trying to show bart something or lure him to make a pact with him by showing him the kind of abilities he could give bart?
