A friend shared this video with me. She said I would probably like it. Prince EA brings spoken word to environmental causes. I urge every one to watch this video he. For those of you who say he is exaggerating are probably the same people who still don't believe in climate change. The change is real, the question is when. Anyone that has children should be concerned your children or grandchildren are the ones that will have to deal with the outcomes we brought upon this Earth. Don't leave this planet knowing that you turned your back on it it. Do what you can volunteer, donate, pledge a meatless day out of the week. Support local business instead of big chains. Walk to the store around the corner instead of drive. Recycle. Know that you tried to make a change in this world.

As some of you know by now, the two oleanders I planted by the creek were stolen. (RIP Hans and Genevieve) I was honestly really heartbroken when I found out last Tuesday, because I have been dedicating so much time to water and tend to those plants for @carlibel @thefashionbybel 's #carlibelgiveaway #TreesForChange I called everyone that I needed to in order to plant on public property and I had my babies kidnapped. I posted about it on Facebook, and my lovely friend and old Spanish instructor (le Drief) let me plant something in her yard. Not only is this literally one of the nicest things anyone has ever let me do--but I am so excited to be able to still pay it forward in a Trees for Change way. I chose an Ethiopian dual cactus this time around because they're super Eco and water friendly and if we miraculously get an El Niño this year, they should be fine! Now, for the time being, since the Driefs are in Morocco, I have named them Qusai and Soraya until the kids can get home to name the cacti themselves. I honestly cannot thank her enough for letting me do this. Thank you so much Drief! I can never explain properly how wonderful you are for letting me do this. Thank you so so so much! :) Plus, enjoy my dramatics, for through my wounds I have earned them. My vlog will be up by tonight and it shows more of the process! 😘 (at Camp Green Lake)

Today I planted two lil'trees (larger oleanders) for the #TreesForChange movement! My favorite trail that I have walked for years has a terrible gash down the middle due to some kids lighting it on fire. As if the California drought wasn't bad enough, now all of my favorite trees that lined my favorite trail are gone. Everything is charred in a dark, ugly scar. The other day I saw the video for @thefashionbybel @carlibel 's #carlibelgiveaway and it really woke me up to all the good planting a tree can do. Chase and I went to our local nursery and picked up two little trees to plant (even he wanted to help!) and it only took like three trips from my car and a bucket-load of water and a few stares from police on bikes! Just kidding 😘 Make sure you call the parks and recreation office, the city itself (like I had to) for the "okay" (or permit?) and call anyone in charge of electric lines and pipelines in your area and you're good to go! Also, if you're in California--make sure it can live in drought conditions once established! Also be sure to look out for Hans and Genevieve along one of the trails! (If you know me in person I can DM you the location) I want all my friends to plant trees too! Anything to further along #TreesForChange and brighten everyone's day ☀️🌳 Stay Tuned: my vlog about the experience should be up tomorrow on YouTube and I'll post the link! TIP FOR CALIFORNIANS: if you do not plant close to you (like I did). You are responsible for the watering! It's a commitment!! I'll have to (lovingly) lug several gallons of water from my house, drive a few streets down to the trail, carry said gallons down the trail quite a ways, water the plants ONE to TWO times a week and back again. They're our babies. We must tend to them. ✌🏼
