Did You Know: The Bosmer have an infamous reputation for thievery? Their society supports a notion known as the "Rite of Theft", where a Bosmer would steal an item of value, and then simply return it while expecting an item of similar value be gifted to them. Vanirion the Thief, one of the most famous Bosmer thieves, invoked the Rite of Theft over 200 times.
The Altmer exploited this societal practice by stealing items of value from various Treethanes, and invoking the Rite of Theft to open a port in Valenwood.
