“LOVE YOUR MOMMA”
by Chor Boogie and Trek6
Based in San Francisco, Jason Lamar Hailey, aka Chor Boogie, was introduced to art by a grade school teacher and decided that’s what he wanted to do. The self-taught spray paint artist’s work ranges from small 2 inch “boogie birds” to building-size murals including such high-profile commissions as work for the Beijing Olympic Games. Miami based Oscar Montes, aka Trek6, honed his skills under the mentorship of Puerto Rican father and son Andres and Andy Bueso, and in 2013 was awarded @MiamiNewTimes “Street Artist of the Year” and “Mural of the Year.” Collaborating in 2016 on this NW 23rd St wall in Wynwood, organized by @ManaContemporary and @TheBushwickCollective they originally intended the work to be dedicated to Chor Boogie’s mother who passed away earlier in the year, but when Trek6 found out his grandmother was on life support the two decided to make this a bigger statement. @chorboogie/ @trek6/
