TREKBos Highlights
Even though it was only a two day con, having a second row seat dead center was awesome. Felt very intimate.
This year Gold tickets got twice as many autographs as last year which was great. Had to buy stills for them to sign, and payed for a photo with Tim Russ to add to my collection. Maybe I should just get a photo with a Voyager cast member each con. I've got Picardo, Kate and now Tim. (Also started a rather herculean task of getting a copy of the Caretaker novelization signed by them as well. Started with Garrett)
In terms of panels I really enjoyed Martok and Gowron in costume (and character -ish) and Martok got down off the stage and asked me to sing The Good Ship Lollipop which I couldn't. The Ferengis were on Sunday and more in character as Max Grodenchik wrote a little skit about them getting stuck on Earth again but he kept losing his place! Aaron would mention what page they were supposed to be on. I got to ask Rom about Ferengi culture and how they used to treat women. He stumbled for an answer (I knew it was a tough question, I just really wanted to know!) and then got around to saying a woman shopping with a credit card makes profit for the credit card companies. What surprised me was Terry Farrell and how articulate and smart she was. Of the 15 guests, she was the only one who had two panels, and yet there was still a long line of questioners on Sunday. On Saturday she got asked many questions about her characters personality and how the Trills' gender could change. As insightful as the questions were she tried to give really insightful answers as well. One of her last questions was from a guy who used crutches and asked why disability wasn't covered more. She couldn't understand him at first (maybe he was nervous) so got off stage, walked over to his mic to listen to him again. Then she ended up giving him a hug, despite being sick. She said that the writers had a lot of other issues on their plates with war, gender and sex identity, and religion to grapple with.
